Was initially planning on weighing in around 205 as a light 220, but I've been pretty light the past week so I dropped a few pounds down to 198. Pretty easy cut, just had to cut fluids the night before for the most part. Drank 60oz of Gatorade within 10 minutes of weighing in so I got rehydrated pretty quick. Was 199.4 on the check scale but managed to make it down to 198.1 by weigh-ins.
Squat
525
560
575 - 13 lb PR; Raw State Record
Warm-ups felt like nothing, worked up to 495x1. Switched to my Titan sleeves rather than the cheap ones I have been training in and I got a lot more pop out of the hole. Still did all of this beltless because I lost my belt in September lol. The 575 was the biggest grinder of my entire life and definitely the ugliest successful squat I have ever done. Very happy with this because I have been gunning for this record for a long time now. It's an incredible feeling to finally accomplish something you've worked so hard at.
Bench Press
365
x380
x380
Went through the warm-ups really fast because I got screwed up with the rotation, the heavier bench was already well into the 300s and the lighter bench was still in the 100s for warm-ups. Definitely my fault because I should have got over there faster. Finally went 275x1 315x1 345x1 really quickly once the lighter bench finished up. I knew something didn't feel right with warm-ups but I pushed on with my planned opener anyways even though it was a big struggle. 380 didn't really have a chance on either attempt even though it moved off the chest pretty good. Even having TrettinR as a lift-off guy didn't help. That's how bad I was on benching.
Deadlift
545
600
x625
Did my usual low volume warm-ups and felt really good through 495. I knew 600 would go at that point as long as I didn't do anything stupid. 545 was really easy and I was probably good for 605-610 had I jumped right to it or planned my attempts differently. The 600 took a big toll on my SI joint and I knew 625 was gonna be ridiculous. Felt my back locking up immediately and didn't want to risk anything since I didn't need the 625 to win or even for a total PR at that point. Kinda set myself up to fail on that attempt, but considering my best set leading into this meet was 545x4, 625 wasn't really reasonable. 625 was just gonna be what I needed for 1600 if my planned 3rds of 575/400 went on squat/bench.
Total was 1540, which is a +3 lb PR over my own state record total. Won the 198s and open lightweight, and Minnesota beat Wisconsin for the border trophy. Overall it was a really good day.
Definitely have things I need to work on. As strong as my squats are right now, I'd like for them to be more aesthetic and less damaging to my body. I really need to step back and completely re-evaluate my bench form, because what I'm doing isn't working. I've said before that a small amount of butt lift during training doesn't matter for me, but when I get going closer to my 1RM I seem to really make it look extra terrible in training. This needs to change. Might be looking at adopting more of a flat-back style of benching. Lastly, I think I'm going to start doing touch-and-go deadlifts again. My SI joint goes through good days and bad days, but I never had problems before I started resetting between reps.

The sexiest.
Not sure how to explain what I mean by that lol. I've just always thought my squats look weird.
Over time I've realized I don't get much out of a belt. I have a pretty thick midsection, and don't seem to have any problems stabilizing without one. Plus, I find them uncomfortable lol.
Thanks doooood.
It just felt awful. The video does it justice, I basically just blacked out at the top. I heard one of the spotters say "take it", and if it weren't for that I would have involuntarily just fell over lol.
Thanks.
Bench just went really, really bad. Nothing felt right at all.
On deadlifting, I knew 600 was going to go as long as I didn't do anything stupid, so I figured I might as well open with something pretty easy. Initially I was hoping for a 975 sub-total (575/400), so the 625 was gonna make or break 1600 and I wanted to avoid fatigue.

Hell yeah Bomb! I know the last year has been kinda up and down for you training wise, so it's definitely good to see you hit a couple PRs. Damn shame about the bench, but that squat was simply amazing. Time to see what you can do in the 220's now?
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Don't really know right now. I like weighing around 200-205, and don't really like the idea of being closer to 220. Eventually I'd like to do USAPL nationals at 205, but I have a LOT more to add to my total before it's really worth it. Gonna try to stay a little leaner this time and get to 205 or so. I still can fill out the 198s a little more so I'd like to do that before I move up. Still would like

Solid couple grinders, always a testament to mental strength to hang in there. I never had any doubt during your final squat attempt.
Congrats on the PR's and state records!--CUBE--
