How to cope with knee pain for squats?

Hey guys, I'm young but I've had screwed up knees since middle school. They just hurt to bend sometimes and squats kill them. What would you do in my situation? Should I look into a brace or wraps? Should I try a different exercise? If so does anyone have any recommendations for either? Thanks!

which martial arts are good for self defense?

i dont like fear stopping me from enjoying life, having to avoid bad areas at bad hours etc. just cos of the danger so i need to be able to defend myself physically. our gym teaches judo, jiu jitsu and karate. or should i look outside my gym?
