All about equipment and iron!

Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Craigslist Thread (Round 3)

The last thread got up over 10,000 posts with too many people asking if they should pick up the bowflex down the street, so it's time to start a new one. Let's all keep our eyes open for the shake weights for .20/lb, strap on our Chucks, and speed away on our unicycles for those sweet pick ups....

Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Power Rack Thread - August 2010 version

This is a collaborative effort from the equipment forum members. The 2008 edition has a lot of broken links and rather than keep that one going we decided to start a new one. First let’s have a few definitions to clear up some confusion. Squat Stands: These are probably the most useless...

Sticky Thread Sticky: Official Newbie Bowflex Search

So you are new and dumb enough to believe the Bowflex commercials, before you get flamed and negged into the red, use the damn search function to get the answer to "dude, should I be ignorant and think about getting a bowflex" OK, now if you post another thread, you get what is coming to...

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO POST STUFF YOU HAVE FOR SALE!!! I'm seeing a lot of people and (some not noobs!) posting items they have for sale in this section. That is not what it is for and is against board rules. There is a craigslist sticky for posting great deals you see but if it isn't a...

I need a new people mover/equipment mover

I was involved in a collision on fathers day that should have been a fender bender, but was hard enough to deploy the airbags on my 10 year old Honda Odyssey. So, it's a write off. I was hoping I could have kept that car until it rotted away, then never need another minivan. However, my kids...

Foam roller now oval

Grabbed a cheap foam roller from WM to see how it would work for great. After a week or two this thing is oval, sort of a pita. Maybe these things are somewhat a consumable, but even at my 'massive' 200# I would think they should last more than a few weeks. I'll assume I just...

Vintage Iron Thread

Hi All, I read a post a few weeks ago in which SnowOne and DonForeman suggested a vintage iron thread to discuss/identify old plates. I wasn't part of that discussion, but I see that no one has created the thread, and I have a couple of plates that I could use some help identifying, so I figured...

Rogue Hi-Temp

I wanted to buy the Rogue Hi-Temp 45 pounds but some people have written that the size is too small to use with other metal plates. I currently have the York quad-grip where the 45's seem to only measure 17" which would actually mean that no matter which other olympic plate size I bought, the metal...

KG plates vs. LB plate diameter

I have spotted an old set of samson 20kg plates on craigslist that I'd like to have, but I'm concerned about the dimensions possibly being different than my collection of 45lb hoffman and ivanko plates. Can anyone tell me what the typical diameter of 20kg/44lb plates are compared to 'typical' 45lb...

Ironmaster Super Bench Crunch Attachment

I'd be going fairly heavy on weighted situps, currently using upwards of 120lbs on about a 40 degree incline on another bench. The IM super bench itself is rated at 1000lbs flat and 600lbs inclined but does anyone own the crunch attachment and know what's the weight limit on that? Thanks.

New shoes for lifting

I'm in the market for new lifting shoes. They'll be strictly for lifting as I have running shoes for cardio work. I'm torn between the Adidas Powerlift 3.0 and the Reebok Crossfit Lifter 2.0. Thumbs up Product Review for "Super Squats Hip Belt" by Ironmind
