Forum: Workout Equipment

What should you use?

Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Craigslist Thread (Round 3)

The last thread got up over 10,000 posts with too many people asking if they should pick up the bowflex down the street, so it's time to start a new one. Let's all keep our eyes open for the shake weights for .20/lb, strap on our Chucks, and speed away on our unicycles for those sweet pick ups....

Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Power Rack Thread - August 2010 version

This is a collaborative effort from the equipment forum members. The 2008 edition has a lot of broken links and rather than keep that one going we decided to start a new one. First let’s have a few definitions to clear up some confusion. Squat Stands: These are probably the most useless...

Sticky Thread Sticky: Official Newbie Bowflex Search

So you are new and dumb enough to believe the Bowflex commercials, before you get flamed and negged into the red, use the damn search function to get the answer to "dude, should I be ignorant and think about getting a bowflex" OK, now if you post another thread, you get what is coming to...

I've found a vertical leg press locally that I'm thinking about adding to my home gym. It has a max weight limit of 500 lb (Powerline PVLP156X). Does anyone use these or have advice or opinions about using the vertical leg press? Would it be a useful addition to my gym? My leg work at home is...

Let's see your KG plates!

Some recent threads got me thinking about Olympic plates in kilogram (KG, Kg, or kg) weights. Here in 'Murica, we often talk about plates with Imperial system (pounds) weights, but not everybody is from 'Murica. And you all don't necessarily have plates in pounds. So, let's see your Kg plates! ...

Where should I set up the safety straps and J-cups for bench press?

I am having some difficulty deciding how to determine where the best place is to put the safety straps and J cups for bench press. Do I want the safety straps as low as humanly possible without the bar hitting me? How do I know if the J-cups are too low/too high?
