Arrow Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Ov35 Bench Press Thread!

May as well throw this one out there so we have all 3 major lifts represented. :) Open to ideas as to how things should run but here's how I see it..... - must be Flat BB Bench only (using an OLY bar). No Incline Bench, Decline Bench or DBs. - Raw lifts only. No shirted benching. (wrist...

Sticky Thread Sticky: O35 Official Deadlift Competition Thread

Since we lost the last deadlift competition thread, it's time for a new one. Ideally we can get this stickied, and get some mod reps for the weight class winners. I'll be checking the contest regularly to update standings. Since the thread may last longer than a year, we can declare winners at...

Bench/Curl Ratio?

Ok, this question could have gone in Misc, but I actually was looking looking for some legit answers. And seeing as how I AM in fact over 35, I figured I would post it here. For guys who have been lifting for a while (I've only been at this since March), is there a general rule of thumb...

Can I do exercise after 8pm?

Could you pls advise? I’m 36 and hope to have ‘the tummy of a fitness model or bodybuilder’, so to speak. Due to my job and family situation, I found that I can only go to the gym at about 8pm during the weekdays. Is it alright to do exercise after 8pm? Thank you

Where to begin?

I'm 55 (male). As part of a new group fitness class at my employer, they did pre-program fitness assessments with BodPod. I was surprised to learn that my body fat is 30.3%. 172 lbs, 5 ft 8 in, fat free mass 120 lbs. I would like to get to <20% body fat. The strange thing is that I don't look fat...

diameter of olympic bar grip?

I'm on vacation this week. The gym i'm working out in has older equipment. I've noticed over the years that most newer olympic bars in gyms seem to have a larger diameter or circumference where you grip. I've never loved these fatter bars. But today, I was using one of the older bars, and the...

Bogus transformation

This guy named Charlie Burton was on national TV here in the UK claiming that his transformation was from 'cutting out all sugar and alcohol for 8 weeks'. What a joke. He claims he went from 16% bodyfat to 3.3%! So we're supposed to believe he gained 13lbs of muscle and lost about 25lbs of fat...
