Nervous about starting the gym

Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum. So I finally got my gym membership today and start on Monday after my induction. I have to admit though, I'm really anxious about starting it; if I'll see any improvement and will I do things correctly since I'm not the most knowledgeable about...

why do ppl only state one side of a bb when they say how much they lifted.

Maybe this might sound silly to some of you guys but to newbies it's confusing. Let's saying someone deadlifts 3 plates. In reality he has lifted 6 plates + the bar which should weight 44lbs i guess. so assuming it's using american terms 1 plate =45lbs so 6 plates = 45x6 and the weight of...

Some deadlift safety related questions..

Is it just me, or does it seem like it is much harder to keep the upper back from rounding, and the shoulders pinched back, when doing a double overhand grip vs mixed grip on the -? Also, at what point would you suggest going from conventional to mixed grip while moving up into my work sets? I...

Do you need SLDL/RDL for big hamstrings?

I hate those exercises because it's very hard for me to get a good stretch in my hamstrings without rounding my back. Those exercises only work my lower back for me. Will doing 5 sets of seated leg curls suffice for my hamstrings? That's the only hamstring machine I have in my gym. I do 5 sets for...

I need advice on improving size of long head bicep

Hello Everyone! I am trying to get more serious about my training and need some guidance. My upper arms are about 18 inches, however, I feel my triceps are starting to overpower my biceps and (at least to me) it makes my arms look a bit silly or puny in the bicep area. When I flex, the "peak"...

High bar squat and pushing the knees out question
