While I hope to hell we NEVER, EVER, EVER have to go to war with our government, I do believe the people would prevail. But at what cost? Another lost generation like the one we've lost in the Middle East? Or WW2? Vietnam? I don't think the USA would or could survive that sort of insurrection. Am I prepared, yes.
I hope that in years to come, at some point there would be some sort of common ground to be found to fix what's wrong with the world. There's WAY too much pain in the world to worry about who has what and what they plan to do with it. Evil will ALWAYS find a way to do its deed.

This is why we really really really need to try to win the 'soft war' on the soap box, at the ballot box, and in the jury box. It would really, REALLY suck if it went to the ammo box.
It seems like we are currently losing the soft ware, though. Just look at Operation Fast/Furious, the absolute bullshit that went on...but nobody has any interest in actually seeing that justice is served. The government and the rich/powerful can do what they want and break whatever laws they want without any real consequence.

I'm not, but if I were to get ready for such a thing I would require the full arsenal from Far Cry 2. We're talking fully automatic shotgun, a silenced shotgun(gotta have the variety), revolver style auto grenade launcher, that mortar thing. I want the tranqualizer sniper rifle too. And who could forget the flame thrower? Throw in an M4 or something and I'm ready to rock.

No vehicle in production is very well at running after IED blasts. But those ones are made to protect the riders during it. But many have still made it out of an IED blast (driving).
But yeah, as Farles pointed out (and GF alluded to), guerrilla warfare favors the little guys. Worked in the revolutionary war (French were actually good back then) and for the current desert wars (for them ).
I chuckled at you trying to shift the talk to zombie apocalypse.

Collateral's a fun movie. Audioslave cutscene was good too. Can someone tell me if Tom Cruise was supposed to be insightful at all? He fits the bill of a proper lonewolf in the movie, but he just seems to serve as a bully in Jamie Foxx's character arc. All that's really wrong is that the twist at the end serves plot convenience a bit much.
Michael Mann produced Hancock. I caught just about the last scene in Thief, laughed, and considered it to be potentially the most melodramatic ending in spite of me not knowing the context.

I liked the dichotomy of the two in some regard. The part where Vincent(Tom Cruise, like I said I just rewatched it last week so I still remember the names ) handles Max's taxi boss and later when Max plays Vincent's role when dealing with the guy ordering the hits shows a possible life in clear contrast with a veteran taxi driver who lies to his mother about what he does for a living and doesn't have the courage to call up that lawyer for a date. Maybe he's so stuck in his life that without Vincent there shoving it in his face, he doesn't get the courage to crash the car and go after him to stop the last hit.

Seems like a bit of overkill on plot development. Nothing about the provocative qualities in Vincent really transcends to Max gaining confidence, except for the action in the movie. The whole premise of them driving around is interesting, including the scenes you mentioned. I like real-time'ish movies, which is also why I think the premise is tasteful. The movie reminds me of a compromise between Ali and Public Enemies.

Bill, give it a few weeks and it will move down to the bottom of the list of stickies since the thread is closed and the others will be getting bumped. This place runs pretty smoothly but every forum has a rules thread and people need to be aware of the rules so they can't plead ignorance later.

I think at a certain point, it becomes a red-button rhetoric, hence dilemma, no matter which path you choose. It's more of an Aristotelian virtue, rather than a Plato definitive.

Article on CJ2K or Run DMC:
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/fantas...--fantasy.html
One of the blurbs about CJ's down year last season:
There's no question Johnson was one of the biggest disappointments last season, when he scored just four touchdowns after totaling 28 over the previous two years. His 2.1 YPC after contact tied for 58th among running backs. Still, he managed to total 1,463 yards from scrimmage, and him showing up out of shape after holding out before the season was likely the reason behind his down year; over the first seven games, Johnson got 2.8 YPC while over the final nine contests he got 4.8. Moreover, the big drop in touchdowns was mostly not his fault, as he was given just six goal-line carries. Johnson converted half of those for scores, and it's safe to expect the opportunities to normalize in 2012, as he was given 31 GL attempts over the previous two years.-

Brown Rice. It's obviously better than white rice, but I wonder how much it benefits you to switch over. I know that it tastes like oatmeal, but I always have to eat it while resisting the indulgence of the taste. This might be because I attempted to cook it one time, and naturally assumed I didn't live up to the challenge.
