I think you're underestimating what competition shape is. It is something that no one in there right mind would try to achieve for summer, spring break, or a Halloween party. So my advice is to just keep dieting until you're satisfied with how you look for summer. You won't accidentally achieve competition shape.

Nope. Just muscle memory...I was pretty fat before I started cutting too, and that probably helped fuel the muscle growth during the caloric deficit. It really started out as the EAS/Musclemedia fitness challenge, and as I got near the end I figured I would try out a show. You can see I didn't have much mass at all back then.

your profile pic isn't 6%... well at least it doesn't look like it, maybe its the lighting or your bloated. How did you test that 6% calipars? bod pod? hydrostatic?.. not trying to be rude...but so many people on here have a misconception of what 5-6% really looks like.
the only reasons the pro's can get so low, is because the amount of sheer muscle they carry...for example, 280lbs @ 3% bodyfat is close to 10lbs of fat on his body... and 142 @ 6% is only 8.5lbs of fat. so your AVI would need to look MORE shreeded then a pro at that weight to truly be 6% at that bodyweight. just remember its all relative based on bodyweight.I do not sugar coat things, but you got in the condition you're in by "sugar coating."

Yeah. I get your point on that one. 6% bf is a guess. I used calipers back then on pec, ab, and thigh, and they calculation told me 5% (1-3 mm per site)...which I know was wrong. I was probably more like 7-8% back then. I never stopped cutting up to the contest , doing cardio twice a day along with weight training, and consuming 1500 cals/day. It was 12 years ago, and I lost my old logbooks from back then. If I had about 4 more weeks, I probably would have been truly shredded, but that was a contest I just tried when I first heard about it 6 weeks out. I did it only for the experience and had fun.

Good Point. What is the conversion factor? My guess is 1" of height would be about 10 lbs more scale weight for the same degree of musclular development. Maybe, that's an overestimation. So the 5'7" guy at 160 lbs & 6% BF would be equivalent to 200 lbs at 5' 11" & 6% BF. Maybe my estimation of 10 lbs per inch is too high, but that's close.
There is also significant difference between small boned and big boned bodybuilders at the same height. For example, myself, I have a small skeleton with 6.5 inch wrists and 8.75" ankles. I would weigh about 10 lbs less than a guy at the same height with the same amount of muscle if he had an average size skeleton.

There really isnt a good "conversion factor." Some people are just lighter than others for whatever reason and it doesnt always come down to muscle size. Most middle weights are in the 5'7" to 5'10" range and obviously the taller guys look more stringy. But you look at the pic of B-Neva.....he looks like he weighs a lot more than 160 lbs.
