that is amazing...alot of respect for that fella!

i used to have a trainer who did alot of martial arts, he must of weighed only around 140 pounds at near 6 feet tall but his strengh to weight ratio was incredible. bodyweight exercises were no issue for him and because he was firstly very well conditioned cardiovascualy and secondly his muscle were very strong compared the size as they had been trained for endurance for years.

the difference between say jay cutler and this guy are akin to the difference betweeen an ultra marathon runner and a world class 100 metre sprinter. he does not train for explosive power or muscular endurance, more his muscle cells are replenished from his superior cardiovascular system, which is why he take 5-10 seconds between each rep.

takes a lifetime of dedication to get to his level

Ok, I did 40 deadhang pull ups about 6 months ago. This was because I was around 143-145lbs and my body fat was probably lower at that time because of all the cardio I did. I used to do pull ups/push ups/sit ups/jumping/running every other day for my high school's fitness team. Now I go to the gym and don't do nearly as many sets of push ups and pull ups as I used to do. Im over 10lbs more than that now, because I'm trying to gain weight, but also not lose definition at the same time. As of today, I could probably max out at around 30-35. Maybe more, because I don't do a max when I have full energy anymore. I'll usually do pull ups at the end of my back and bicep workout, which consists of around 7 exercises and I'm dead after that (deadlifts are on that day too). The bars at my gym are horrible, because it's just slick metal and super slippery. My 40 was on a taped bar at my school with chalk on my hands. If I can somehow get a video of me in the weight room at my high school from last year, I'll post it. Stay tuned. If I had to guess now, I'd say around 35.

Also, during the Atlantic City, NJ air show last year, I did 35 on the Marine station's bar and had the record for the day. It was also the most crowded day all year. Was anybody at that air show? There was no chalk provided and the bar shook like crazy.

You're a total tool. I just ate a sandwich in 30 minutes, but it didn't have mayo on it, and it had paper on it, so my hands could hold it easier and I could take more bites per minute. Just STOP talking about yourself, please.

The title of this thread says that my max is 40. That means that the most I have ever done was 40. What's wrong with so many people in the forum. Calm down.

I will post a video in this forum when I make it. Ok?

OK, how about half of your max.

I will rep you if you do 20 dead hang pullups

If you do not - NEGS for life

You have 2 weeks to produce the goods.

Surely you can do a measly 20 if your best is 40.

i can do probably 23 full lockout pullups...and i have one of the higher PFT's in my company(288)...and there are alot of really in shape dudes in there but full deadhang pullups are pretty hard to do right and do alot at the same time

20 would be too doable. i say set the bar at 35.
thats like me claiming i can bench 350 than you telling me to make a vid of me just doing 175. Of course i can do 175 but that doesnt mean i can do 350 (which i cant) 315 max

20 dead hang pullups is a very decent number. Just giving the OP an opportunity to produce something credible other than continuing to make excuses.

Ok, I'll try and get a video up in 2 weeks.

I don't see why 40 is even that amazing. Last year, 8 or 9 kids on my high school fitness team could do at least 30 (they had us stop at 30 for max score). Did you guys see the original video I posted ... 77!!!!!! That is 37 more than I can do, almost double. You guys should be commenting about that guy. He's amazing.

I used to be able to knock out over 20 in a row in HS but not now. They actually changed the fitness testing when I was a senior. You had to do one pull up and hold it, chin above bar. I had the record by over 30seconds.

I'll have to try this in the next few weeks at the gym.
