I made no such claim of this 'gym rat' you speak of that trains on weekends. Everything comes down to moderation; this includes a large mental aspect that needs a break. I use to train on weekends years ago and it is both mentally and physically taxing. In order to keep up the lifestyle for myself personally and for many others, you need to take an acute break, the weekend is sacred for that very purpose. On Monday, I feel refreshed and ready to go. Some of the more successful people I know in the fitness industry train 3-5 days per week, Martin Berkhan trains 3-4 days per week (leangains.com), my coach trains 4 days per week and are undoubtedly in fantastic shape. It all depends upon your goals and what you're trying to achieve and what method you choose, one size does not fit all.
