Jonah Lomu vs. the NFL

How does everyone think Jonah Lomu would have gone if he hadn't refused Dallas' offer and also suffered those kidney problems?

height: 6'5"lbs
weight: 270lbs
100m sprint: 10.8 seconds

He's was one of the most freakish specimen of any sport, ever. In regards to his height/weight/speed/tackle-breaking combo, he'd match-up favourable with anyone in the NFL. The only player I can think of who's similar in those criteria is Brandon Jacobs. I say this all from a fairly neatral point of view (played gridiron, aussie rules, and union; fav being gridiron).

i dont watch any NFL but i think he would be able to hold his own. he wes unstopable in his prime.

The tackles in that video are proof why rugby is so overrated. You can bet your ass no one in the NFL would be arm tacking him like they were in those games. He would be in for a rude awakening.

No offense to rugby fans, its still a cool and rough sport...its just your general attitude towards american football that pisses me off.

I just don't think you can take a rugby player....put him in an NFL uniform....and expect he's going to be good just because he was good at rugby.

Football isn't just about hitting people...it's a thinking game also.

Isn't 9.7 the world record though? Matt Jones is bigger than him and could easily run better than a 10.7

It's not. Look it up anywhere. It's also in his book.

He's been recorded of 40 metres at 4.8 to which equates to about a 4.5 over 40 yards.

Yeah Jonah was THE guy in Rugger. We've seen the second coming in every sport, Jordan, Gretzky, Hawk, Jona was just that with Rugby, he wouldn't have stood out with Dallas, but he would have made some good coin. Truly the greatest weapon to ever be placed in New Zealand's arsenal.

When is a 4.5 40 considered good?

Every good runningback and receiver in the NFL runs a 4.4 or bettter....as do a good percentage of linebackers.

What position would this guy play? (fool, lol)

40 yards is only 36 metres... we get timed over 40 metres so they run an extra 4 metres... i think 40metres is something like 44yards or something.

4.5 is pretty much what the regular NFL running back does, except Jonah has 50 pounds on most of them. Nothing average about that.
