Get a bigger server or stop doing updates at peak hours...
One thing about BB.com that absolutley infuriates me is at least a handful of times a month I come back from the gym, go to log-on, and the I get the hourglass of death, and then after sitting for an eternity, my profile comes up blank, with no profile pic, and if I refresh, it eventually says, cannot connect to database, what the frick is your IT department doing (or not doing for that matter), I blow your site off for days when this happens (it even happened when I tried to upload this post), it is a waste of my valuable time...and it pisses me off!

It happens, although yea this should not be done at peak times. Most admins are willing to do a late shift if you give him the next day off.

Well then don't whine about it. Take action. Get screen shots of the server error message and send it to Admin and bodyspaceadmin. This will help them help you.

It has been working like crap all day. BB.com has been this way ever since I have been a member. For people to come in here and say it isn't true is pure lunacy. I've never seen a forum lag more than this one.

LOL, I know how frustrating this can be as well. My local bb site was down on SUNDAY around 5pm EST. I called tech, and they said it was server maintanance. WHO THE F**K would do that on a weekend at that time.

Well, you should know since you have been a member here for several years...oh wait.
BB.com forum members buy supplements here. BB.com refuses to ban trolls because they are afraid of losing business.

That's not true at all. I'm not sure where that rumor started. We ban people that deserve it, regardless if they purchase from us or not.

The server issue is on the forum side; the supplement side works fine during these outages. As long as the forum remains free, I can't see anyone demanding that it be fixed.

Permaban. Crest_Man and others, start up multiple useraccounts and troll threads repeatedly: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...1&postcount=45
Yet they continue posting. I can give more numerous examples. That is just a small taste.
I have made many purchases from bb.com. Mods have ignored PMs and some refuse to read reports sent. It can be frustrating.

The supplement side was not functioning for me last night. Instead of making a purchasing a Protein Factory supplement, here, I went to their direct site. I prefer to buy here, even if it is more expensive, because they offer a forum with high traffic (loyalty). As I've said, you haven't been here long enough to know all the ins and outs of the site.

I know forums and I know what it requires to run them. I have run several myself. The labor involved in running a "free" forum is quite demanding and it's more frustrating when people get angry when they can't access a "free" forum. If the supplement side was indeed failing, then I guess that's lost business. I don't quite understand why anyone should be mad about it. You're not paying a membership for the privilege.
I don't have to have time here to make my point any more valid.

I average between $100-200/month on supplements. When I saw this site was down a couple of days ago or slow, I assumed the purchase site was too (usually buy at the beginning of months), I bought them on another site.

I never said it was easy but it is important to keep current or potential customers happy. Take away the free forum and watch profits drop. "Free" helps to generate profits. Who is going to pay for a forum that doesn't have much traffic? Free generates traffic and potential customers. Many members are on here for 8 hours a day at work. You get to know other members so many try to be loyal, in purchases, to this site. It can become a community of sorts.

That's the free market. If their site down time affects business, then I assume they're going to fix the problem. If not, buy elsewhere, right?

Of course, but some of you are getting mad about it as though the admin/ownership owes you something. Expressing concern is one thing, but getting upset is quite another.
