I did de bench tonight and decided to measure my ROM length. So I set up the biggest arch i can possibly get, middle finger on ring and..............18.5 inches. I never expected it to be that long since ive heard of guys with under 10. Anyway, how long are your ROM's?

What's your height and weight? Chest measurement? I'm sure these factors will play a part in ROM. A heavyweight or SHW with a massive chest can reduce his ROM just by using his size, and if he is short to boot then his wingspan may be shorter which can also give a mechanical advantage.

im about 6 feet and compete at 148. i have a 41.5 inch chest and a 28 inch waist so yes, im tiny.

You need to work on arching. That will cut your rom way down. I am 6foot and 165 my rom is about 13inches My chest is 40 inches. I have long skinny legs and arms

I'm 6'5 and my arm length is 32" from tip of middle finger to insertion in shoulder. I have a huge ROM, as I have little to no arch. My chest is pretty large (51") so I guess that shortens the range of motion a bit.

wow thats really wierd. from my finger tip to shoulder insertion is 33.5. I dont see how that can be when im 5 inches shorter.Originally Posted by BigDerek

My arm length is about 24" and ROM is about 13". I don't arch. I'm 5'4" and between 230-235.

my Rom is around 14 inches, with a giagantic arch and wide grip.
From finger tip to finger tip my arms measure 6'5"...
I would say you need to work on arch.

aww, brad your ROM is so big you can get a tiny girl to lie right on top of you and do tandem benching, it's like using her as a board press and a spotter at the same time, hehehe
