I work all the muscle groups 3 times a week, is this too much?

Should I do a split? If I do every muscle group (3-9 sets) three times a week is it too much?

Are you making gains? If you are satisfied with your progress then don't change anything. If your gains are stalling or you feel you could be progressing better then switch things up.

There is no right way/ wrong way to do routines. I change my routine when I start seeing a plateau. I started with three days a week (full body each time). Then I went to a split routine (upper body one day and lower body/abs the next).

Go with what works for you right now. Switch it when you need to. As long as you see results you are good.
