What would have to happen for Michigan to get into the Rose Bowl. From the way i understand it, the rose bowl is typically reserved for the winner of the big ten against the winner of the pac-10.
So if Michigan wins out the rest of the season including Ohio State, would that put them into the Rose Bowl.
Another question, if Ohio state is still #1 when Michigan plays them say at like #16 then if Michigan beat them but Ohio state still was ranked better. Who would then go to which bowl, Cause Michigan would be the winner of the big ten, but Ohio State would be ranked higher than them.
Hope somebody can clarify a little

Yeah that sounds good on paper.........but that means if the season ended with the rankings like they are, that ohio state would go to the BCS championship and that a #25 ranked Michigan team would get to go to the Rose Bowl.......I just find it hard to beleive that they would send a 25 ranked team just because they are number 2 in the Big tenOriginally Posted by payton34

It could happen. Ohio St. will most likely play for in the BCS Championship Game, leaving Michigan (who should be ranked 2nd in the Big 10) to play in the Rose Bowl. That's if Michigan wins ALL of it's games from here on out. 1 more loss and they're not playing in any kind of Bowl game.

The new way the BCS works is the Champioship bowl rotates (Sugar Bowl this year) and the other 4 (1 bowl is now for a mid major ?) get to choose from the remaining BCS bowl eligible teams. The eligible teams are something like the winners of the major conference titles (exept for the top 2) or if the team is in the top 8 or something BCS standings.
