Day 1
Weight - 268lbs
I just finished my first shake of the day. Not too bad. The ground flax seed didn't messed up the taste as i originally thought it would. So far so good!!
Does the diet look ok to everyone? Just want to make sure i'm doing this right.

Today is going really well. I have 2 more shakes to go before i'll get to sleep. I decided to buy Matrix 5.0 Cookies and Cream casein just in case cuz i do not want to fail the diet. It's a tough diet so why make it harder only using whey? Should be here soon. Well that's it for today. I'll update tomorrow.

Hey Sky!
Cant wait to see you shed the pounds. Your going to do great and Id like to keep up with your journal.
I know you mentioned switching to Casein protein as not to fail, curious as to why people recommend casein compared to whey when doing this diet? Does it fight cravings?*Future Millionaire crew*

What he ^ said Thank you for the support OhSnap.
Yeah, i was feeling sick so i ate a hard boiled egg earlier. I figured i'd feel a little sick and hungry cuz i'm use to having tons of food in me. Also because i'm using Whey. I'm hoping tomorrow will be a little better. I'm about to have my last shake of the night. It'll be chocolate with ice and natty pb. I'm excited!! I'll update tomorrow. Oh, trust me. After the first week, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose half a pound of fat per day. The first week is the hardest. Just remember to keep your goals clear in your mind!

Day 3
Thanks, just hearing that is very motivating!!
Most of the day i'm great. Come 4pm - bed i start to feel a little sick with a headach. It's happened both days now. I'm hoping it's just because my body's just wondering what the crap i'm doing with only liquid in my stomach. Has anyone else done the v-diet get headachs and feel sick at all? I'm going to tough it out though.
I've finally decided what i'm going to have for my meal on Wed. I'll be eating steak with veggies, a salad and sweet potato. YUM!

Ok...i just want to make sure cuz it's hard to want to grab a shake and stomach it when you feel like crap.
Man i was just about to take the dogs for a walk but of course it started to rain. I will be going shopping today so i'll be on my feet all day. Guess that's better than nothing.
Thanks for the support everyone!! All of you are just making it that much easier for me to keep pushing on."To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

Doing great. I gotta say, I'm pretty sure that I have read most if not all of the Vdiet logs in the last few days, I have decided to do it myself. I wont be able to start till my casein gets here, though I may start off with whey and switch. I have a question though, if anyone knows, I seem to be falling short of my protein intake goal, but if I add another shake, I'm afraid I will exceed my calorie intake. Any help appreciated. Just wanna reiterate, you're doing great, and have inspired me to follow in your foot steps.

Thanks so much! Congrats on deciding to try the v diet!
As far as your question...are you taking flax, fish oil caps and everything else with your shakes? If you already have that in place then you can either try a shake with 1 scoop earlier then the other later instead of 2 scoops every meal. I would + and - scoops for the shakes. As long as you are taking a shake in every 3 hours (1 or 2 scoops) then you will be fine."To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

This is what Ive been doing, taking 2 scoops for 2 shakes in the morning/afternoon time, then the remaining shakes with 1 scoop of protein. Also I fluctuate how many fish oil capsules and flax seed scoops I take with my shakes to reach my calorie goals.
Only problem Im finding is keeping the carbs kind of low. Yesterday I had 99 grams of Carbs, haha refused to hit that 100 mark, but I worked out yesterday so its all good. Carbs were so high because I threw in 1 tablespoon of non sugar honey into 3 of my shakes, didnt know they were 15g of carbs a piece. Yikes!
Sky22! Looks like your on your way, already lost your water weight, awesome. I'm on day 2 of my Velocity diet. The first day was somewhat rough but today its a little bit easier. I noticed I've already lost 2 lbs of water weight just in a day.
Im trying the V-diet just to get over the hump and into single digit bf% numbers. Lets keep each other motivated since we started at similar times. The last thing I want to do is start another V-diet thread as no one will read it as theres tons already. But we can keep each other going..u game?*Future Millionaire crew*

Of course i'm game! Congrats on the pounds dropped. I'm guessing the honey is for the shakes to taste a little better? Have you tried splenda or something with no calories? I just try and down them as fast as i can unless it's the yummy ones i put natural pb in. I can't wait until my casein comes in. I think it will help a lot with how much feeling later on in the day.
Keep it up Ohsnap...it will get easier. Are you lifting and doing some cardio? If so how much?"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

hey sky, dang your right, I need to start throwing in some no cal splenda instead of the honey on off days. Does splenda have carbs in it? I know I need at least some carbs before working out and after, so thats what I was using the honey for, since Im not using Surge or a low cal energy drink.
Yep, Im working out. I know I should rest in between workout days but Im taking a supplement that just puts me in the zone. Its called Amplify02. WOW! It actually makes me focus working out, gives me nice pumps and strength increase and I actually find myself enjoying cardio with it . So what they hey, worked out legs yesterday and did a nice 45 minute full body workout today like the one found on T-nation.
Im also walking at 4.0 mph with an incline of 5% for 2 miles every day (while on v-diet), I ride my mountain bike to the gym when I go and its 2 miles away, and I usually hit the ski machine for 15 minutes while watching football or baseball games. So Im getting plenty of cardio, maybe a little too much for this diet.
If you look at my progress pics, you can see Ive lost about 6-7lbs just eating clean for 20 days. This is even before the v-diet.
Whats your workout regimen including cardio look like?Last edited by OhSnap!; 09-28-2007 at 05:01 PM.

I'm just doing something like what tnation explained. I'm trying to walk as much as possible everyday and i am lifting on Tu-Thru-Sat full body. I have a buddy that's going to lift with me so i'm pretty excited and shouldn't miss a workout. Splenda doesn't have any carbs. I get what you're saying with needed carbs before you lift. I take some creatine before i lift and some after as well. It has carbs in it. I don't take too much cuz i do not want the bloating.

I already had you on my subscriptions hehe
np, don't worry about it. Happy to share
Well, i must say it's getting hard to get all my shakes in. Although maybe it's not a problem more so than i just have to force myself to drink them. I am getting tired of the taste of the shakes. I'm hoping when the cookies and cream casein comes in i'll enjoy that a little better. I know i was low on my calories today. i also had some coffee and some diet soda which i'm sure will show on my weight tomorrow. Tomorrow i'll make sure to get all the shakes!!

thanks sky,
make sure make sure make sure you get all your shakes in. your body needs that meal to keep the metabolism kicking at full steam.
Your doing great, what is this, day 5 for you? your practically 1/4 done! *claps*
Im sick of my shakes also. Im am not a big fan of water and my shakes taste so lifeless and bland. I tried your method of throwing in some splenda and that helped a bit. Also Im not a big fan of the protein I have which is ON cookies and cream whey. It tastes like Im drinking bubble bath. Gross.
I have some chocolate casein coming in Monday and I hope it helps with taste and hunger. I find myself getting VERY hungry at bedtime, so I popped 3 cherry tomatoes at a hefty 1 cal and 1 carb a piece. hahaha
I killed cardio yesterday. I ended up going swimming real last night because I was bored and then I decided to walk 5 miles to a friends house because I had nothing else to do. It sucks moving too a town and not knowing anyone. I reallllly need to meet people.
Welp sky, heres to another day. Remember keep pushing forward!*Future Millionaire crew*

Day 4
Weight:
Start - 268
Day 4 - 259.8
Ohsnap, i think all three of us (you me and zagga) are on the exact same day on the diet. Which makes things great for us. I'm about to go make my shake. Today i lift and I think i'll run down to my school today and lift down there. I have a mini home gym but it's in a room that i can't do squats in. Anyways...off to drink!"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

hows the casein protein treating ya compared to the whey?
I had too have something solid today, i couldn't take it, these watery shakes gag me.
I ate a can of asparagus and a can of spinach, not really a cheat but still. They both are filled with sodium, so i packed on 5 lbs of water weight back pretty quick, hah.

The new protein is great. Of course too much of anything can be a bad thing so i guess i'll learn to hate it soon. haha
The first couple days i felt really nasty so i threw a hard boiled egg in so i had something in my stomach so i wouldn't toss my shakies. Today went pretty well. I'm over feeling like crap with bad headaches cuz i haven't had caffeine. I stuck to the diet 100% today.
Downing my last shake before bed.

Grats
Looking good, you're dropping at about the same rate I am. I splurged a bit tonight and had some beers, hopefully it won't affect me too bad. I'm pretty sure I didn't go over my max calories, cause I skipped a few shakes due to lack of time. I'll be sure to get back into the swing of things tomorrow.
Keep up the good. I'm glad you and snap are doing well. Also, are you using any sort of fat burner? That might help with the headaches, but could cause them again once you went off it.
-
09-30-2007, 12:31 PM #30
Day 5
No fat burners here. Didn't want to spend the extra money and i honestly don't think they would help me out at my weight. Maybe if i were trying to lose the last little bit of weight but i just didn't see a point cuz i knew the weight was just going to fall off anyways.
So, it's 12:15pm and i got up a few minutes ago. Haven't had one shake yet and i'll tell you why. I stopped off at a friends party the other night and only drank water. Left early and was happy with myself i didn't cheat or anything. I get this phone call at 3am asking if i could drive my friend that was at the party to the hospital cuz they were wrestling around and busted their chin on the ground and needs stitches. Of course, no one can drive at the party so we had to come get them haha. So, because i'm not going to get all my shakes in before bed i'm going to eat my solid meal today. I didn't weigh myself either day but i'll do the next one on the 2nd or 3rd to see where i'm at.
Sorry for jumping off the diet a little bit but i'll make it up!!
Edit: OK NEVERMIND!! I'm going to try and get the shakes in. i might be a little low on calories but i will be ok. I get my solid meal Tuesday so i can wait. Don't want to mess the diet up in the first week.Last edited by Sky22; 09-30-2007 at 01:26 PM.
