Im seriously thinking about joining the marines within the next 2 months. One of the reasons is because of my college I would get an immediate promotion once im done with basic training.
My question is how rigorous and tough is the usmc boot camp? I want details.

Its tough, from what Marines have told me, its also long. but the thing is if you want it you will pass it. Its not SF where they want you to quit, they want you to graduate since it cost them money if you have a breakdown. Bootcamp is suppose to train you, remember that and you are golden.

I too plan to sign the papers in November on my birth day.
Good luck to you if you choose it.
It will change you thats for sure. Almost everything that you are now will be different.
Hope those videos didn't make you scared.
Here I'll post a happy video.

Ask some of the Marines right now... leatherneck.com go to the forums there.. from what I hear its more mentally tough... 13weeks of getting screamed at, eating **** food, running your ass off, all on minimal sleep..

I've been in for 5 years now...and look back at boot camp and laugh. It's probably the toughest thing you'll ever do, and while your there...your wondering WTF DID I GET MYSELF INTO? But afterwards you'll look back at me and think it wasn't that bad.

If you're looking for a promotion go to ANY other branch but the Marines Corps. Seriously. You're only picking up PFC no matter how much college education you have unless you go the officer route. I love being a Marine but looking back i realize how truly screwed i got when i initially went enlisted.
Don't you think it's funny that if I grab a woman's ass and she punches me, she's fighting for her rights, but if a ******* grabs my ass and I punch his lights out, I'm a homophobe?

Whoever said you'd be able to run 10+ miles is talking out their ass. **** the longest run we did on OCC was (if i recall correctly 7 miles or so)

Marine Corp Boot Camp isn't physically demanding, it's mentally. If you can take 3-4 Drill Instructors screaming at you with their spit flying all over your face and not wiping it off you'll be fine. I went in for 4 years. If you go to S.O.I. then thats pretty physical. Those 10-15 mile humps with 50-70 lbs on your back is no joke. But the Marines is one of the best experiences of my life.
Let's put a smile on that face :)

If I was the guy in the third video I'd punch the ****ing drill seargent in his face.
I could never join the marines for that reason, I wouldn't be able to stand being ****ing screamed at.
Why do they even bother threatening to kick his ass, everybody knows they aren't allowed to hit anyone anymore.

My cousin is about my size and 1 inch taller than me. He said the boot camp was pretty easy. Mentallly was a breeze since he was raised under asian parents (you know)
physically he had to run a lot and do a lot of bodyweight exercise...
proof of said cousin:
