i don't know much about music...but i've heard a little of everything. i think they might have touched the peak of music in the late 60s/early 70s. the music hits and fogerty's voice has that energy...imagine being a know nothing 18-20 yr old at the time being sent to the jungle and listening.

I like their music because the white singer has got soul, but LOL if they’re not a poster band for Cultural Appropriation.
Typically I hate that term being used so much, but these dudes were writing songs about the “bayou” from California without having stepped foot in Louisiana.
They were not getting any popularity and were trying to “find their sound” and the singer started copying the black singers that he liked.
And the singer just happens to have that kind of voice that sounds like he’s been through some chit. This they become the top band in the USA and only second globally to the Beatles.
Learned all this from watching their Netflix documentary. SRS.
