I've done it and its easy lol, you just talk to people all day... if they cuss or get rude you tell them that you're gonna hang up. You literally don't have to move, and just click/type sometimes, maybe do some research on policies.

Yeah, my family were pretty worried when I had my surgery almost 3 years ago, they all offered me a place with them.

Dealing with the general public has to be fuking awful. I spend my days coding and it has to be easier than dealing with the deranged people you get in a job like this.

I'm experienced in it which makes it easier, new people are terrible at customer service in call center roles, they make the customer more irate and often get called out on not knowing how to do their job, I've done it long enough I can calm them or give it back to them and dominate them in speech, but it ain't for me anymore.

Schizophrenia is a legit disability and in the realm of neurodivergence. I couldn't imagine how much more difficult that made call center, srs.

I did WFH IT support for a while, and it's stressful handling a queue of 200 tickets due to an outage, incoming chat, email, and an irate end user on the other side of the phone.

The general customer service side is a little better but still total ass depending on the clientele/project
