The United States will require a negative COVID-19 test taken before departure from anyone traveling from China starting Jan. 5, according to federal health officials.
The announcement on Wednesday was made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"All air passengers two years and older originating from China will be required to get a test no more than two days before their departure from China, Hong Kong or Macau and show a negative test results to the airlines upon departure," Dr. Henry Walke, director of CDC Center for Preparedness and Response, said in a statement.
"This will also apply to persons traveling from the PRC via third country transit into passengers connecting through the United States onward to further destinations due to the current volume of passengers from the PRC and transit in Incheon International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport On the way to the United States," Walke added.
Travelers flying through those airports will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test no more than two days before their departure to the U.S. if they were in China within the last 10 days.
Walke also said incoming passengers who tested positive for COVID-19 more than 10 days before the flight can provide documentation of recovery instead of a negative result.

It comes from Chy-Na.
"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

on a serious note, this might be why: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/oth...IW5?li=BBnba9O
Nearly half of the passengers on two separate flights this week from China to Milan tested positive for COVID, and now health officials in Italy have announced that they will test all travelers coming from the eastern Asia country.
even though its Italy, the US isn't taking any chances I suppose.

tests aren't any better. remember all the fun confusion from the CDC... you can have a negative test but still have the virus, you just tested when the virus wasn't "detectable". when is the "window" for detection? can't recall specifically but recall something like you could carry it undetected for weeks.
guess they in a surplus of those tests and they need to burn through em"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." -Will Durant

The survival rate isn't terrible so far, but the point is not to overwhelm our healthcare system and the heroes who work tirelessly to save lives.
Testing people entering the country and quarantining those with positive results will help flatten the curve. Mask up, get tested. Should take about two weeks.

A friends mom died in China and he was going home to bury her and plan the funeral.
China stuck him in a hotel for ***3 weeks only allowing him to be tested and get his food from the doorway**** before he could leave his room.
A test ain't chit compared to what they did to a US citizen trying to bury his parent! There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

So, the not-China virus is having a resurgence in China and now they're concerned with people traveling from China, and it's okay. Mm hmm.
In a statement explaining the testing, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cited the surge in infections and what it said was a lack of adequate and transparent information from China, including genomic sequencing on the viral strains circulating in the country.
But the CDC's action may be less about stopping a new variant from crossing U.S. borders and more about increasing pressure on China to share more information, said Dr. David Dowdy, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
The U.S. action is a return to testing requirements for some international travelers. The Biden administration lifted the last of such mandates in June. At that time, the CDC continued to recommend that people boarding flights to the U.S. get tested close to departure time and not travel if they are sick.
“We’ve done this before. We can do it again,” Dowdy said.
Cut 'em some slack, it's hard to remember when the goal posts are in a state of perpetual motion.
"We are aware of a problem but we won't act like it's a problem until several days from now."
Maybe the virus is on holiday, kind of like how it is courteous enough to not infect people while they're in restaurants so long as they wear their masks waiting to be seated.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die
If you have any problems or need advice, feel free to ask

Nah. China changed their policy and relaxed some mandates and lockdowns leading to a huge surge in cases. That surge is what is alarming the govt here and causing them to impose travel screenings. The virus does not go on holiday. It is airborne. If you take off your N95 mask for any reason, you are exposed.
