The survey of businesses allows for double counting of some job-holders, and there is considerable evidence that this double-counting has accelerated recently. For example, people holding multiple jobs are counted for each job they have. Also, when someone transitions from self-employment to working for someone else, that is counted as a new job, even though there is no net gain in employment.

The result is that of the 5.8 million jobs recovered in the last year, approximately 1.3 million are double-counting. For August, the double-counting was approximately 208,000.

Accounting for this and the downward revisions from the previous two months, there were technically no jobs added in August.

Early on he also tried to argue with me because I said Geert Vanden Bossche might have a point about the negative impacts of immunity, and that there was no way he could be right. Now we’re approaching the 2 year anniversary of clinical trials wrapping up and lots of places are continuing to see substantially elevated all cause mortality rates. There are various things people try to attribute it to, but I have some problems with some of the theories. If it is still elevated due to Covid, why is it that such a weakened virus is able to bump the rate up to similar levels the more deadly variations did? Also, this is after so many of the vulnerable have sadly already been killed by the virus. If it is due to the amount of medical care that was delayed and postponed during the shutdowns…again, the death rate was pulled forward by the virus(ie…the people who were vulnerable/elderly/and sick who were going to die within the next few years of 2020-2025, many of them died in 2020). So that pulling of the rate should have offset the increases this year because many of those who were tracking to pass away this year have already passed in 2020 or 2021. Not saying those two things aren’t causing deaths…obviously there are some people still dying from Covid and some people dealing with more serious health issues due to delayed prognosis and treatment. But I don’t see how that could tell the entire story. So what does that leave to help explain the sustained increase in all cause mortality? Hmmmm……



Not to derail this thread though, it’s obvious that our economy(and I’d say the global economy) is pretty fukked and in for some even rougher waters ahead. Most positive news is complete gaslighting attempts by people who helped usher in this environment through shutdowns, mandates, and other harmful measures.
