"Boxing is not fighting, we all have to identify that. You put gloves on two guys and they dumb down their version of combative skills to overcome each other. Boxing is a performance, it's a dumbed-down version of fighting. He (Paul) is not a real fighter. If he wants a real fight, he can step in the game with four ounce gloves and we can do business. But that's not the case," said Luke Rockhold.

Legal and sanctioned bare knuckle fighting is becoming a thing. When Paige VanZant announced she was competing in the league fanboys cried that she shouldn’t be allowed to fight in the women’s bare knuckle division because she has a pretty face and what if it gets busted

As a former boxer and MMA cornerman, I would agree, neither is fighting. Both are sport. That's fair. Only fighting is fighting. Luke Rockhold is calling out the biggest paycheck he thinks he can get and a website used the biggest name to get a click and a clickbait level message board thread drew me in.

lol
MMA stans are like "boxing is a controlled combat sport with rules, its not real fighting. Our controlled combat sport with our rules is real fighting."
So is all MMA real fighting or just specific ones like UFC? Is kickboxing? at what point do you draw the line
Theres bare knuckle guys saying MMA isnt real fighting because real fights dont have gloves.

I’m like the one remaining mma forum og who posted here from the day it was created... and boxing has always been discussed here as far as I can remember. The sports section probably does too. But I never go there. I’m not the biggest fan of team based sports.

It's not a dead or dying sport there were 70,000 people in the UK 2 weeks ago for AJ vs Usyk and it looked like the superbowl and probably did close to 2 million PPV's there.
By the way if you are any self respecting combat sports fan you should be paying attention to Usyk as his recent run of form is the best of any combat sports athlete currently competing.
Fury vs Wilder 3 is a fight that is only happening because a court order forced a contractual cause, it should have happened a year ago but C19 put paid to that. Also Fury is the headline in that fight but due to travel restrictions the 1000s of brits who would be flooding Vegas can't get there.
It'll still make loads of money and sets up the winner for a unification super fight.
The main issue for boxing from a USA standpoint is most of the top fighters on the sport are currently not American, and the top American guys are all with PBC who are super political and don't match their top fighters against the best, so they fly under the radar, oh and they have no personality those American PBC guys.
Anyway boxing is in very healthy form right now. It's lacking a little bit for "characters", America aren't doing great at it and it's not as condensed as the UFC, but it's extremely healthy internationally and America will come back into it at some point, they need a dominant heavyweight champ, and everyone knew Wilder ain't it.
Boxing isn't serialized like the UFC is, and made easy for casual fans to watch it and follow along like a football league in episodic format, boxing requires an attention span and regrettably a bit too much research to keep up with.
As for luke Rock hold, we'll Mr Rockhold, considering as your career earnings before tax are less than the top boxers get PER fight, maybe you should have gotten into the "dumbed down" version of fighting, but I fear you never had the talent required to do so, so here we are.

I personally wouldn’t mess with any pro boxer or mma fighter just because I prefer one over the other as a fan... that would be retarded as it is to suggest it in the first place lol. That said a pro mixed martial artist vs. a pro boxer? On the streets? Pro mma fighter by arm bar.

You need power, stamina, superior coordination and a high pain threshold tolerance to even try to make it as a respected amateur or pro boxer.
Experienced boxers gravitated towards the sport because they are explosive and have KO power.Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.
