Despite the UK’s largely successful rollout of the coronavirus vaccine, a public health official says masks and other social distancing restrictions are likely to remain in place for years because the public has become used to them.
Mary Ramsay, the head of immunisation at Public Health England, said the measures would remain in place while other countries complete their vaccination programs, a process likely to take years.
“People have got used to those lower-level restrictions now, and people can live with them, and the economy can still go on with those less severe restrictions in place,” said Ramsay.
“So I think certainly for a few years, at least until other parts of the world are as well vaccinated as we are, and the numbers have come down everywhere, that is when we may be able to go very gradually back to a more normal situation,” she added.
The doctor said that so long as people continue to be infected, the rules won’t be abolished.
Ramsay’s comments once again highlight the fact that the plan never was to get “back to normal.”
Now that Brits have allowed society to be permanently deformed, with polls routinely showing vehement support for lockdown and other pandemic rules, things are never going to be the same again.
Having allowed the precedent that the government can put the entire population under de facto house arrest on a whim, look for the policy to be repeated over and over again with different justifications that have nothing to do with COVID-19.

C19 restrictions to remain in the UK for "years to come"

Not really sure social distancing is a "low level" restriction considering its the reason hospitality would be & is, in some cases, bankrupt, without government funding.

Not going to happen. Once all adults are vaccinated no one is going to stay indoors over the summer. Most people i know at this point are bending the restrictions and its not even April. If people want to wear masks and not leave the house properly anymore fine but everyone else wants to do normal things.
Otherwise i guess someone needs to send a message and guy Fawkes the house of parliament (in minecraft).

UK To Make Vaccines Mandatory For Health Workers
The UK government will soon force health workers in care homes to take the coronavirus vaccine, a leaked document has suggested.
In London, only a quarter of staff who work in such facilities have opted to take the shot, while the number is closer to half in other parts of the country, according to NHS figures.
The London Telegraph reports that in response, the government submitted a paper to the Covid-19 Operations Cabinet sub-committee last week suggesting mandatory vaccines for such workers.
There are approximately 1.5 million people working in the sector in the UK. They would all be required to take the vaccine or face losing their jobs.
The paper, written by the Department of Health and Social Care is titled ‘Vaccination as a condition of deployment in adult social care and health setting’, and notes that the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) suggests that 80% of workers need to be vaccinated for care homes to be deemed safe.

Restrictions = less freedom.
After the fall of communism, authoritarians were at a loss in how they were going to control people. First, ti was terrorism, but that only went so far and the side effects that wasn't good for their globalist agenda. ISIS was a last stand, and then the US elected Trump and even the Russians got in on squashing it, so back to the drawing board. So, they finally figured out a way. The virus is perfect. Just did enough damage killing off the weaker more costly people but didn't do any real economic harm that they couldn't exploit. Just enough to set in panic and let them have control.

I wonder what percentage of health care workers would just say fuk it I quit if this became mandatory. And saying fuk this I aint dealing with all the bullchit I've had to put up with for the past year.
almost every country faces shortages and can never have enough health care workers. So a decrease in these workers would be terrible. how many people would skip altogether going this route as well knowing they would have to take a mandatory vaccine. Kind of a double whammy in that case.
IDK, just thinking of ways this could potentially backfire on them and where the solution could be worse than the problem. Alot of care homes are run like garbage as it is though and many deaths have come from LTC homes so you can sort of understand it from that sense. But if you have the elderly vaccinated, 25-50% workers vaccinated and maybe have these care facilities not run like complete dog chit, it's a better approach.
and this is all before even touching on how this can be perceived as a violation of freedoms .. I guess the argument there is well, don't work at a care facility, you have the freedom to choose where to work? But that's almost self-defeating in the context of an industry that needs more people. govts constantly tow that line until nobody even notices it's been crossed.positivity brah crew

My goodness.
It's almost as if this is just about control.
But that's just poppy cockSurvival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

The most appalling in this is that if you were to show the rest of the world how florida has been open the entire time with no mask mandates while still having a fully operational medical system , they would not believe you...
I could bet you that 98% of the world population out there is not even aware about how loose with the restrictions florida has been the entire time either
Anyhow...
What concerns me the most, is what will happen this fall, in October, 7 months from now when the flue season starts again. will the world push for lockdowns ? and how will the cattle's react ?

I work in NHS with COVID research and everyone I know in my site already had their first Pfizer dose and soon to receive their 2nd. It is more uncommon to not have a vaccine received yet as a healthcare worker here.
Also, in June - the lockdown and restrictions end here. The only thing that may stay is the masks in some places. But I do not think they want to phuk up this third time considering how much hate they already got.Always pick 4 crew

The truly mindblowing thing is how peoples political leaning affect their beliefs on the subject.
-You've got people that are more left leaning that believe in whatever mainstream media tells them. They rely on the government to protect and rule over them to keep them safe.
-On the right leaning side you've got people that are skeptical of mainstream media. Believe more in freedom/individual choice. Want minimal goverment oversight. Etc.
Covid numbers/fatalities in severely locked down/restricted areas mirror the numbers in places that have little to no restrictions in place. Its literally been proven that lock downs and restrictions have little to no impact on Covid.
People on the left are convinced that people on the right are crazy. Are going to all die from covid. Etc. People on the right think the leftists are literal cucked idiots.
Where I live there are minimal restrictions and no mask mandate. We haven't had any kind of major issues. My mind is just blown that there are still cucks out there hiding in their homes and wearing multiple masks when they venture into the big bold dangerous world.
