Or should you have to take an IQ test and a psych evaluation before you can apply?
Think about the average joe blow you know personally. Those of average intelligence. Does the regular person typically know anything about macro economics, foreign affairs, politics, the justice system etc...or how certain policies effect any of these things? just lol
Normies on all sides are typically brainlets that do whatever feels good at the time and we even allow people with <90 IQ to vote

Everyone should be allowed to vote otherwise you're essentially advocating for a two tier society while wall street jams you in the ass with the same ambition that sees you cursing God when your credit card statement comes in.

The biggest problem with an everyone votes elective government is it becomes a popularity contest more so than a merits contest.

It's tempting to limit voting rights when you see the amount of stupid, or watching unproductive parts of society vote to give themselves more public money. But once you find one reason to limit voting rights, then any excuse can be used, including to take away YOUR voting rights. Never forget that. People who say not everyone should be allowed to vote always take for granted THEY will always be allowed to vote. It doesn't work that way.

Most people really don't need to know much about what's going on since the most important decisions like military intervention and monetary & fiscal policy are made independently. Plus countries with constitutions have built-in measures that prevent the uneducated masses from causing too much havoc. The American constitution was written with a good deal of pessimism in mind.
Of all the ways to disprove racism that has to be the worst argument. Not sure if srs

nah, everyone should have the right to vote.
the governments actions have an affect on everyone, so it isnt fair for any citizen (who isnt a dependent) to not be able to have a say in who is in charge of that government. unless ofc they have done something to warrant taking that right away from them.
thats just how democracy works.. it isnt perfect, but its the best we've been able to come up with. literally everything else is worse by a substantial margin.

Does the president?
The country isn't in the state it is because of the voters, it's because of the people they vote for. Make sure presidential candidates have expertise in macro economics, foreign affairs, politics, the justice system etc...or how certain policies effect any of these things, and it won't matter which flavour the masses vote for, they'll get a good POTUS either way.

U.S. citizen 18+ should be the requirement.
Anything else seems to be going backwards... i.e.
-Women couldn't vote
-Had to own property.
-Slaves couldn't vote.
If we establish IQ and other items it would be in essence creating yet another class of citizens, i.e. the voting class ruling all. Unfortunately the "stupid" get a vote as well."We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." -Will Durant

How are you classifying success? A lot of the owners of big corporations like apple, google and youtube are liberal not to mention lots of hollywood actors and sportspeople too.
Are these really the people who you want to give your voting rights to?
Also to everyone saying it should be limited to iq, are you saying you want to forgo your voting rights to a bunch of people like Wincel who are very intelligent but maybe lack life experience in other areas?
Honestly I think the systerm is fine the way it is.Last edited by kingmanaverage; 04-27-2020 at 01:49 PM.

It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

My opinion:
Felons should be allowed to vote. Only one vote per household unless the household is voting for more than one person. Should be a tax-paying citizen (or married to a tax-paying citizen) for most of the previous year, or currently paying taxes for the majority of current year🦜 Parrot crew 🦜 125 gallon planted freshwater crew 🦜 60 gallon reef tank crew 🦜 Flip phone crew 🦜 No ******** crew 🦜 2 books per month crew

Yes. We're a Democratic Republic with the idea that wisdom in the Universe, God's wisdom, whatever you would call it...is distributed across mankind. It stands to reason that a vote considering everyone's opinion will ultimately prove the most wise.
Edit: We also elect representatives. The average person doesn't need to be an expert.EX IGNORANTIA AD SAPIENTIAM
