"We have to stop running around after Trump's tweets," says 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang on the President's comments toward Rep. Elijah Cummings' Baltimore district. "He is who he is. We have to solve the problems on the ground that got him elected." pic.twitter.com/xs9IEwSEc3

-rebuild the middle class
-invest in infrastructure and jobs, not wars
-bring jobs back to America (Bernie Sanders is the strongest candidate by far for fair trade, including Trump)
-economic equality
-a living wage to combat inflation (which is out of the peasantry's control)
-invest in education, make America top ranking for standardized test scores
-invest in the family (children, parents, seniors)
-better regulation to fight corruption and environmental damage
-political and electoral reform
-science and technology (republicans are anti-science, want to teach creationism in schools)
-invest in renewable energy (republicans are bought and paid for by big industry)
-healthcare for all
-go back to being tough on America's adversaries and rebuild diplomatic relationships with America's proven allies (NATO)

Hey at least Yang has thought out how to pay for his proposals, which is more than can be said for anyone else, ya know? I am not a UBI guy at all, but I do see some good stuff in there...replacing the administration of umpteen thousand government welfare programs with just cutting someone a check...makes a lot of sense. The VAT makes SOME sense. I still don't see his numbers working. The one thing it would be good for is the family. Stay at home moms can be stay at home moms again. Those of us who are responsible who wonder if we can afford a kid, may be more inclined to have that kid. A kid that will be a contributor to society, not a leach.
Ideally, assuming it works and pays for itself. Which of course that "ideally" is not "reality".Stern Crew

He also wants to increase the salary of congressmen and women and the president so they're less likely to take money from special interests. And his boyfriend Tucker Carlson also thinks it's a great idea. He thought he could run on a unique issue, no one cares about automation yet. When it becomes more prevalent, other politicians will address it and Yang will disappear even further into the oblivion.

The last two cycles with Trump vs. 15 (R) and these 15-20 (D) have been an anomoly. Usually its 2-3 strong candidates and the rest stay out of the way. Not sure if this is permanent going forward, or goes back to normal soon.
i.e. next election someone like Nikki Haley runs for the (R) nomination, she probably will not have much competition.Stern Crew

-Trump hasn't rebuilt the middle class, it is on a continuous decline for the past forty years. His tax cuts for the wealthy didn't help.
Fact check on Trump's middle-class tax miracle (spoiler, it isn’t)
https://business.financialpost.com/n...avours-wealthy
-Trump hasn't significantly invested in infrastructure or gov-created jobs (republicans: "let the market handle it")
Trump falls short on infrastructure after promising to build roads, bridges and consensus

-Bring jobs back to America
An independent who has a lifelong record of being anti-free trade agreements and 100% fair trade to protect American workers and families
vs
this:
Trump's done some things, but they haven't been as successful as if Sanders (a democrat) were at the helm.
Sanders is a man of the people, Trump is a capitalist who likes free trade agreements because it helps his businesses get cheap labor. They don't believe in giving Americans jobs if they can pay someone else next to nothing for inferior work. Look at Trump's presidential store, something like 90% of all merchandise is made around the world so they can squeeze as much profit out of it as they can. We're talking mugs with the American flag or presidential seal on them made in China.
