Recommend the best DIY hair trimmer?

At 56, its time to say good-bye to my hair.
Not going for the bald look, more like the fully 'buzzed' look.

Lots of electric/battery trimmers out there.
Trying to get a good one that I will be happy with forever.

Still not sure how to do the back of my head...

No help here, I tried that route, it didn't end well.

Now, I just go to the barber and get it buzzed.

I have tried it myself and after it digs deep and gives you a hole(embarrassing) you pay the 15 dollars for perfection.

Wahl is good. Never used it to trim hair on my head, but it is hands down the best beard trimmer I've owned.

Been cutting my hair with electric clippers for ~25 years. IIRC, I used a couple $10-$20 clippers for the first 18 years. Then I spent $60 on a Wahl Professional 5-Star Balding Clipper #8110 and an extra set of blades. It has a 000000 blade and I use it without any guides. 2 guides are included, though. I have been very happy with it and am still using the original blades. After every use I brush the blades out and use aerosol-delivered firearm lube on them.

To touch up my neck line in between cuts, I simply wrap a large rubber band around my head (neck and face) and use that as a cutting guide. I never do the “return” from the horizontal up to the ears when touching up the neck line. Good luck.

I use a battery powered clipper with 1/4" guide. Use it in the shower every morning and that's that. Trim my beard at the same time.
