Alright,
This is my first thread that I have started . Until I spoke to Sorinex CS ,I was set on RM -6 . But after speaking to Sorinex and given their 10% of sale now I need to decided between RM -6 and Sorinex XL ( 6 post) racks.
Based on accessories, I want cost wise both are very close (Including Sorinex shipping cost of $270 or so) so it is not a factor.
The key differences/advantages for each are as follows.
RM- 6
1. Has key hole design
2. Numbered uprights which are default ( I don't care much for this feature but nice to have )
3. No need to cut it down as 90" can fit in my basement.
4. Great CS. Probably best in the industry. Have spoken to them last night around 12.30 AM EST and Jordan was very helpful. You could tell poor guy was tried.
Sorinex
1. Standard 42" between uprights and also total foot print is less 72" vs 80" RM-6.
2. The storage area is 21" vs 28" at RM-6 which is better. I am not going to use the storage area for any lifting but for body weight exercises
3. All the accessories such as Half safety spotter arms , Safety straps etc can be bought in diff colors.
4. Need to cut the uprights . Uprights are 96" but that will actually be a advantage
5. No need to get front chin up bar as can go with batwing or Indexing chin up which is factored in the cost. For RM-6 was planning to go with BWTG chin up with Angled front bar and 4 neutral handles with knurling. Got estimate from Dean on that.
6 Storage pins have better design. no modifications necessary. Plus I can buy how many I want ( Instead of standard 10 can get 6 ) . Already have 4 Mech ones.
7. I have seen Sorinex racks in person with their full Base Camp/XL package and they are awesome. Will go look again today.
Now that RM-4 with 100" uprights is part of BF sale, I did the math ($$ and cutting the uprights etc) in converting it to RM-6 with 24" bottom and top cross members for storage area. It just too much work for nothing and as well get RM-6 now.
So what do you guys think?
I have till end of day Monday to decide . Looks like Rogue BF sale will last till then as well based on my conversation with Sorinex rep they can honor 10% discount till EOD Monday as well.

Try the Sorinex. Everybody has Rogue, but mainly due to Sorinex's prices. If you say they are competitive, you can't go wrong (with either really). I really like that Sorinex is 42" b/w the uprights and their storage area (21") is not overly large. And I have Rogue's Monster storage pins.. they are a dumb design and I modified mine to make them work better.

Both racks are nice and will serve you well. A lot of the accessories are interchangeable between rogue and sorinex racks too, so they will give you options to add.
Edit: One thing I noticed different between the racks, base prices listed on their sites are both $1,850..... but Sorinex adds $400 for laser cut numbers, while Rogue includes that in the base price. I'd say, go through each one and price the options you want and see how it comes out.
I will say, the rack spacing is a personal preference. My rogue is 43" between uprights, and I NEED every bit of that 43" when I bench. If it was any narrower, my arms would rub on the strap safeties on nearly every rep. But I prefer a wide grip on my bench, not everyone does. That problem would be alleviated with pin/pipe safeties.Last edited by rpark; 11-24-2017 at 06:40 AM.

I have an RML-690. Really big/wide dimensions. I went with it because I had a ton of RML attachments already but it's oversized. Dimensions are too large in multiple areas. I'm not complaining and I can fit it but it would be a full sized rack by any standard if you chopped it at multiple places.
If I was starting from scratching I'd go Legend or Sorinex if the pricing was somewhat similar based on dimensions alone.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

Yes. I have comparison table. I will be losing keyhole and numbered uprights. I am not planning to go with Numbered uprights if go with XL. Was tempted to attach screen shot here of the comparison table.
XL 6 post rack base price is $1047. Plus there are no band pegs, no 1.5" wrenches and storage posts are extra cost.
I will say, the rack spacing is a personal preference. My rogue is 43" between uprights, and I NEED every bit of that 43" when I bench. If it was any narrower, my arms would rub on the strap safeties on nearly every rep. But I prefer a wide grip on my bench, not everyone does. That's the key, plug in the options, as both vary on pricing of components. I ran a scenario with nearly identical setups and Sorinex was about $700 more expensive. Flip down safety $165 vs $399, sandwich J cups $50 vs $289, laser cut numbering $0 vs $400, those options add up fast, all depends on what's important to OP. Base prices start at the same amount, so price what's important to you and go from there, either one will be a great rack.
Are you sure? I see XL 6 starting at $1,850, maybe I'm looking at a different rack?[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #4 []---[]

+1 on the Sorinex. The more reasonable storage depth is a win. I would also make the keyholes on the Rogue a negative - they haven’t developed any accessories (worth buying) so you have to go custom or have them as a purely cosmetic feature.

More pics of the XL
This is the facility I was talking about . They moved in August of this year and now apparently they are moving again. Hence you see the yellow tape.
I did ask if they are selling anything😃
Outer distance between front uprights is 47" NOT 48"
Distance between the uprights Inside , 41"
Front to back
Plus Storage area is 18" between the uprights front to back
69" from the front to back . Sorinex site says 72" . The extra 3" must be the foot plates. Just like Rogue is 53" when the distance between uprights
front to back is 49"
Batwing and Indexing Chin bar.
could not move it handle . May be I was rushing it
One with Jammer arms. Really cool.

Nice thread and research vhd. Don't think you can go wrong with Rogue monster or Sorinex XL. At the same price point, my preference would be Sorinex due to the better dimensions (width, storage area depth) and I think their accessories are a bit more polished. Have you looked into the Sorinex adjustable jammer arms? I've seen them on their instagram but don't think they're on the website yet.
The only other consideration is that you'd have to believe that Rogue will likely develop accessories for the keyholes at some point in the future.

vhd, just wanted to say although numbered uprights are definitely nice, it's an easy to solve problem with small stickers or painters tape, etc. In fact, my suggestion would be to just pay for a second set of J-cups instead of numbering. My J-cups are literally in TWO places... ever.
There's the location I bench... and the second location is front squat/back squat/OHP/etc.
If for no other reason, I would choose Sorinex for better dimensions. Even at 41" it's plenty wide and the fact that they don't waste space with storage is a big plus. Rogue tends to reuse lots of parts, to reduce number of parts, so you're stuck with sub-optimal dimensions sometimes. It's workable, but not ideal.USAPL RAW Competitor

These are the old jammer arms which are bolted to the rack. I'm talking about the adjustable ones seen here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BbiMPKtn...ken-by=sorinex.

yes, Sorinex will up charge to cut the uprights. I can cut it down as well. Circular saw with steel blade.
Square bar is goes between 3 rd and 4 upright. Fat bar is to hang spud inc suspension safety straps which will be my squat safeties.
Similar to Chadsalt and SmokinHawk set up.
They are moving. They have 6 base camp package racks with 3 on each side connected via rack bridge.
Plus they have Sorinex 2 or 3 rigs connected. You can see them in the first pic[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

looking at how close the prices are... Id go with Rogue, just because there will always be more accessories, plus if you ever decide to sell it, you will get incredible close to what you paid for it... Either way both Racks are great choices and you wont loose out in any case... i just got my self a fully laoded RM-4 this weekend and playing tetris in the garage trying to figure out how to fit it in... Lastly as far as cutting it down to size its incredibly easy and takes 15 mins using a chow saw, i have been doing it with every rack i had, since my ceilings are 90 (minus 1 inch for the mats)

Was in the exact same boat as you at the same time. I ended up getting the XL Uber vs the RM6 to replace my RML-690 a few days after BF, but Sorinex honored my BF discount as a courtesy. My rack shipped Friday and should be here on the pallet middle of next week.
The customer service from Sorinex was better than anything I have experienced at Rogue and Rogue has always been great so that isn’t a knock on them. I actually became friends w/my Sorinex rep though all the interaction and custom work.
The cost was almost identical w/all the add-ons between both places so I think the notion that Sorinex is overpriced is a bit of a myth once you break out all the costs.
What did you end up getting?

XL rack with all the attachments except for flip down safties. I actually placed the order on Tuesday after BF and Sorinex did honor the BF discount. I got UPS tracking number yesterday. So should be middle of next week. It says 660lbs on UPS site.
I concur on becoming friends with the rep. Real easy and excellent customer service. I think most of the Sorinex guys lift too.
The rep is also sending t-shrts for me and for my boys. I did not ask.
I also noticed that Sorinex updated the site with the actual measurements. Now XL rack says 47" wide and the price has been removed. You need to call to get the quote.
Does uber package include lat pull down attachment too?[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

I have an RML-690 now and the width issue is one if my biggest nitpicks...although it is very minor in the scale of what could be wrong given some of the quality issues that exist w/brands like Titan.
Was Dustin your rep, too?
They are hooking me up w/tee shirts and gear for me and my boys that are helping w/the assembly. I almost bought the installation but there are better ways to spend that money when my buddies and I have already put together racks in the past.
I got the flip downs w/the Uber pack so I can use the drop in seat in the rack for box work as part of my knee rehab from my most recent surgery. Also got straps and 24 in spotter arms.
I added a few other things outside the Uber package along w/the laser cut numbers and custom cross members for the back posts b/c I wanted to shave off about a foot vs my 690. No on the lat pull down, but I rarely use that in my training anyway...I had a Spud Inc one if I want to add that to my workload.
I also got a Recon Bench and a Root Hog sled. I haven’t get the FedEx or UPS number yet, but they told me shipped Fri. Mine should weigh about the same as yours...guess I better get a case of beer for the delivery driver.
They are making me a GHD, too but that is going to take a few more weeks b/c I just ordered it to match the finish on the rack and bench.
I went w/the clear grind (raw steel look) for mine...what about yours?

Right now the driveway is covered with snow. There are only few spots where you can see flat black top. The forecast says it is going to warm up ( 30's) next week. So I plan on cleaning the snow completely and salt it to the death.

One thing to note is it seems 2" fat bar is solid steel pipe not schedule 40 pipe. That is what rep said. We will see.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

Adding another thought here, I've got laser cut numbers (no charge for the brand I have) on the uprights of my rack which I quite liked when ordering.
Having used the rack now for almost a year I would say they are a bit of a luxury as I have coloured dots to show the relevant holes now anyway and as per a poster above things are only in one of two positions. I could recall from memory the numbers to avoid the dots but I've found the label removes any human error, and I'd probably want to double check the numbers anyway if I did it from memory! My Strength Training Blog: http://www.peckmeout.com/
