Its a waste....I seriously don't know why you ammunition armchair aficionados feel the need to bag on rounds smaller than .45 lmao...Lets look at the facts...
- .22LR is the leading cause of gun shot deaths in the USA
- The mafia would use .22LR to kill people back in the day
- .22LR guns offer the least amount of recoil and thus the best accuracy making it easy to pass the 5x5x5x5 rule (5 shots within 5 inches of each other in 5 seconds from 5 yards away)
- .22LR handguns offer the most capacity magazines, usually 10-30 rounds in a hand gun. Way better than the 7 you get with other ammo calibers.
- There's no such thing is stopping power lmao. FBI did a study on this.
- .22LR is easy to CC
- can shoot faster
-Target and plnker competitions use .22LR (because it has best accuracy)
-Lower ammo price
-Lower gun price
Lmao at you guys thinking you need .380, 9mm, 40, 45 or 50 cal to kill someone lmao... Someone shoots a couple .22LR into someone's skull they're fukin dead lmao... Lol at people not getting nearly enough accuracy to do anything with there big boy 9mm and 45s while I have a .22lr getting great grouping and twice as many shots in half the time lmao....

There's no point of buying a gun that's caliber is larger than .22 LR...(srs)

Dude, the second amendment guarantees your right to carry that weapon. i am sure that if you did get arrested by cali cops, the federal government would immediately show up and protect your civil rights. plus, all the cops here assured us that no officer would ever round up the firearms of law abiding citizens, so the cop wouldn't even arrest you for breaking non constitutional gun laws.

Paramedic here. GSW with .22 tend to ricochet/bounce around (and tumble) in the chest, abdomen and pelvis. They are quite devastating because of this but large calibre (or more importantly high powered rifles) leave a huge area of damage beyond the hole itself (cavitation).
I'd say larger still kills faster but not sure if there is a difference in overall mortality
Would still use a 9mm though (there is a reason police do).Last edited by blindsideflank; 07-17-2017 at 07:03 PM.

Why would the military not have adopted your stance as well? Since you seem convinced the .22 is a killing machine.

Um ....... They did. Standard military round is 5.56, which basically equates to .223, which is a 22 round.
Op, while you are technically right, it's not a stopping round. There are stories abound of 22 rounds not penetrating the skull and skidding around it. I don't carry a larger caliber because it kills better. I carry a larger caliber because it stops better. Id rather shoot a guy once or twice before he stops coming at me over 15 shots, especially in todays political climate with a jury.
