Has anyone here had an eating disorder?

From around 15-17, I suffered from anorexia, even though I was already thin. I became more interesting in working out after making a "recovery" (I'm not sure if anyone ever fully recovers) but I somehow think a lot of women who become seriously interested in working out may have had this illness in the past.

It's been around 6 years since. My health is stellar. I'm currently on a bulk

Do you know what caused your ED and how you recovered?

Yes, stress and an inability to deal with my surroundings. I'd always gone to private schools but my parents wound up sending me to a highly competitive college prep school, and I really could not deal with the degree of competition there, so I sort of had a break down. I've been okay since then, but I'm always hyper critical of my body

i suffered from anorexia too. it took me a long time to recover, and I can only say I fully mentally recovered when I did my first bulk and cut 2 years ago ( I realised nothing bad happened and I could control my eating in a good way)

I fell into really disordered eating when I first started in undergrad. I didn't have a lot of friends and I found a pro-ana site. It was downhill from there. That was about 2006-2010, when I tried to recover.
It's been almost 7 years since then and I had a few bumps (okay, a lot) but I consider myself fully recovered now. My health is great, I powerlift and have decent numbers. I've found that weight loss is a little more difficult than it was before, but then again I'm 27 so I'm not -young- anymore haha!

my own experience has been relational related. I'm on the autism spectrum and when I was about 9 I would overeat to deal with social stress. In highschool I ran cross country and was abusing ephedra. I became 'borderline anorexic' and was half out of my mind during my collage years. Throughout my 20's I became obese and by age 25 I stopped the ephedra but was cutting my arms to hell. Trading off one disorder for another. around age 27 I started trying to get help for my self mutilation (also social related, only this time it was on line hazing)

At age 29 I entered Mercy Ministries now Mercy Multiplied a six month volunteer faith based free residential program my graduation testimony can be read here http://mercymultiplied.com/2016/03/h...2013-graduate/

In the last 3 years I can gladly report I've been SI free and set free from a whole host of issues. It's been a growing process and choosing each day to walk out the healing and maintain it.

This coming 12th of Dec. I am having a gastric sleeve done, I've been preparing for it for 14 months. I'm 33 now, and am excited to turn this page over and start living life to the full in all aspects.
