I can find as many studies to back my claims.

I ate mostly processed carbs and fatty meat. No vegetables and not many fruits. I'll tell you this, the best I've ever felt in my life was eating nothing but animal products, with no carbs other than what's in cheese and the like. If I didn't like sweets so much I'd eat nothing but animal products.

I've felt the best ever in my life by cutting meat and reducing the amount of animal products I eat. I can bet you all the money in the world if you dropped meat and ate less animals products you'd feel even better than you do now, go vegetarian for a week or two and come back and tell me how you feel. If humans were truly .. truly omnivores at the least, then atherosclerosis wouldn't exist, its a disease that only effects herbivores. Also how old are you? and you can say you might find as many claims and studies as me but who are these people what are their credentials?

You also seem to forget that gorillas / chimps have much different digestive systems. We can't digest cellulose because our intestines aren't long enough and don't have the correct enzymes to digest it properly.

Canines don't mean anything. Gorillas have large canines and are absolutely herbivorous.

Musk deers have canines. They're herbivores.



Canines are not a determinant of an animal's diet. But their natural behaviour and their evolutionary history is the major determinant.

If you look at the anatomy of a panda, you might have guessed it is carnivorous or omnivorous. But a panda is mostly herbivorous (and sometimes eat bamboo mice).


People should just stick to moral grounds for why eating meat is wrong.

Again, a frugivore is an animal that PREFERS to eat fruit, not an animal that SOLEY eats fruit. Fruit is a staple of the chimps diet.

Chimps are omnivores. So are bears who have a diet consisting up to 90% plant matter. Boars/pigs can have more than 95% plant matter in their diet.

This does not change that they are behaviourally omnivores as they tend to SEEK and prefer such foods (but are not always available to them).

The function of teeth is not only diet related. Humans, unlike other primates, essentially never rely on their teeth as weapons.

Humans have had hand axes and fire for 1 million+ years which is ample time for evolution to exploit these advantages in processing and digesting food.

Humans are clear exhaustion hunters and can dump heat (almost no fur/hair, extreme amount of sweat glands, high surface area:volume ratio) like perhaps no other large animals.

Comparing humans to chimps and gorillas when humans have such peculiar and extreme differences is silly IMO.

OP, aware me on your diet. I would gladly go vegan if it was easier to find the food and cook it. Here in canada its not obvious to buy vegan food, it often much more expensive and hard to find. I love animals and I personally just eat chicken and fish.
