I do this exactly. Belt at 315. Why? Its just convient to pull my belt out at that time. I need some rest before taking 315, so I take my belt out then, then go squat. I should probably put it on earlier, because squatting with a belt is the only time my squat feels good. I always feel like something is off when warming up without one.
I also compete with a belt in squats.
For deadlift, I don't compete with a belt. So I never pull with a belt. Most of my lifting gets posted to Instagram - https://instagram.com/fayerjw/

within the past 6 months i've started to incorporate a lot of beltless training as I used to say what others have said, if you compete with a belt why train without one? and my lifts have gone up tremendously

I don't wear a belt the entire workout session, so I guess I do beltless work. ... not srs
More seriously though, I typically wear a belt when I'm doing my competition style lift and not when I'm doing a variation, e.g. I wear a belt when doing back squats but not front squats. You can't help the hopeless.

I'll use a belt for my competition squat and deadlift, not for front squats
Didn't start using a belt until a few weeks ago lol145lb/66kg Junior powerlifter (22 y/o)
