The past 2 nights, I got Chinese food with friends and family since they asked me to go. I didn't really feel like I ate anymore than usual those days -- I drank more water for sure since I tend to do that with Chinese food, but my weight has shot up over the past 2 days now. On Sunday morning, I was around 163-164. Now on Tuesday, I'm hitting 168.5 or so. The food I ate was mainly soup, seafood, and vegetables so it's not like it was unhealthy. I've been hitting the gym a lot more frequently (i.e. almost everyday), so I've been exercising a lot more.
Is the sudden weight gain attributed to eating more calories than I should, which I didn't think I really did, or is it more likely to be all the water retention and I shouldn't be concerned about what the scale is saying? I'm really hoping I didn't undo all the work I did cutting (was hoping to hit the 160 mark soon).

I had Italian food on Sunday from a spot I know uses a lot of cream and salt in their food. It was a bit of a cheat and reward for being really strict and good on my diet all week. I went overboard and weighed in at 170, which is heavy for me. This morning I was back down at 167. It's water weight. Don't sweat it.
