You can tell there's some tension. Dana never creams himself over Conor, even though he has/is making them ridiculous amounts of money and is putting on amazing performances every time. Dana has been the big boss for so long, even guys like GSP and Anderson treated him like the king. Jon Jones refused to and Dana has shat on him at every opportunity.

How can you blame Conor? $10m gates, back to back huge PPV numbers and he's probably taking a tiny % of that (even though it's still a lot of money).

Conor and Ronda are the only active fighters that have been really able to promote themselves, and who knows what will happen if Rousey gets chit on again by Holm. He wants to go the boxing route, like co promote his own shows with the UFC. He talked about it a few fights back, and again, everyone laughed and thought he was crazy. If he wins a few more fights, it could possibly happen. He's already a mega star in the MMA world, if he properly breaks into the mainstream it's over for the UFC.

GSP would be a better comparison. No one really gave a **** about watching Anderson until Chael made it interesting and the PPV numbers reflected this.
