it has bee awhile since I post any progress here......moving, new house, new gyms.....it was difficult to keep up the workout routine.
I have been plateau for the most part of 2015.....finally, everything seems to click lately, largely thanks to few big guys in my new gym to coach me (mostly tell me to man up, LOL)
never though I would bench 3 plates when I start it out 8 years ago, consider I can't even bench 95lbs...
videos a few weeks old, currently pushing 3 reps on 3 plates bench, I have learn that warm up > max weight > drop down and work with 35lbs chain make huge different!!!
still need to clean up the lock out on the dead lift, but I think I can get it clean by the end of year....
Benching 315,

Deadlift 530,
happy and piss off at the same time......sigh....
ps. I hate bumper plates....but this is gym's deadlift area got to deal with it

Good job OP. How long did it take you to reach a 2 plate bench? I'm about 2 yrs into lifting and getting close to 2 plate. Im doing 5/3/1 and I'm there based on my calculated max from reps but I haven't tried it yet.

Took me about 3 years to get my first rep of 2 plates bench.... took another year or so to get comfortable hitting 5 reps consistently.
I find that extra bench day between a set of squat works well for me. On my leg day, instead of rest between sets of squat, I would bench press 5 reps then go back to squat, then back to bench press.
kinda like super set but for some reason this combo really works well, didn't really reduce my ability to squat heavy. it actually keep the heart rate up, the body just get so tax under the super set, when you back to 5/3/1, you can really focus on that 1.
hope this make sense...Bench: 325lbs / Goal: 405 lbs
Squat: 495 lbs RAW/ Goal: 410 lbs x 5
Deadlift: 530 lbs RAW/ Goal: 585 lbs

Thanks for the tips Op. Appreciate it, it's cool seeing people successful with their training who are several year ahead of where I am. Gives me motivation to keep pushing forward. I'll try that bench between squat sets

Congrats. Nothing like training with guys a weight class or two above you, pushing you to eke out every ounce of effort. I like to train alone, but one day per week I train in a group. It makes a difference!

Totally agreed. Lock out have always been my weak link....that is why I was so piss at the end of video....
Currently drop back down to 441 for reps and rack pulls to build up the lower back, I will try it again before the end of year...maybe even try 550 to see if I can even get it off the ground.Bench: 325lbs / Goal: 405 lbs
Squat: 495 lbs RAW/ Goal: 410 lbs x 5
Deadlift: 530 lbs RAW/ Goal: 585 lbs
