I was wondering how often the abs could be trained because I heard that they recover faster than most muscles. I also want to know because I'm trying to learn a new move with my abs using progressions.

The abs are just muscles like any other in your body.
The reason most people believe they can be trained more than others is because they hit them differently than other muscles.
Most muscles get hit hard and to failure. This means the muscles need a lot of recovery.
Most people hit their abs a lot less hard. Higher reps. Almost never to true or technical failure. This means the muscle has less to recover from.
This just to answer your question. I do not train my abs directly most of the times like a lot of the guys above me.
The only thing I really do is Woodchoppers so I train a twisting movement to my body.
