Hi guys! Hope this isn't in the complete wrong place, if it is my apologies.
I'll try to keep it short- I'm 15 years old, 6ft tall and way just over 130 pounds. I'm aware that this is quite a normal weight for my age, however at my height it makes me look lanky and just too thin simply.
A week ago today I decided I wanted to change and after lots of research I've came to the conclusion I'm a "hard gainer" due to me finding it near impossible to gain any weight. So, in the last week and moving forward I've cut out sweets, chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks completely. I have 40g worth of protein shake daily alongside eating much better foods and lots more fruit and vegetables.
I basically want to know if in the long run will this actually help me gain weight or am I doin it completely wrong.
I do quite alot of sport and jog daily.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks

You are not a 'hardgainer' you are an under-eater... why take a protein shake? Get some chocolate milk, more calories- also nothing wrong with sweets, burgers, pizza, ect... it's all great stuff and adds calories (which you need to grow).
While eating a wide variety of whole foods and veggies is great for health make sure to eat enough calories too- peanut butter is a good example of a calorie dense food you can eat a lot of.
Pretty much to sum it up for you- not gaining weight? Eat more of the foods you like, use common sense and moderation and enjoy being young.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

You are doing it wrong if you want to gain weight.
Eat high protein + start tracking weight. Eat all the **** you want and start weight lifting if possible, you can gain a lot of muscle as a newbie. If you think you can gain weight on "good" food I suggest you try and see if you got the stomach to eat that amount. I doubt it. I've been in your situation.
Aim for a weight gain of 0.5-1 pounds/week imo. This is very slow but you don't want to only slab on fat.If you die, you die. ( ͡◉ ͜ ʖ ͡◉) ™

^ Just aim to eat the foods you enjoy. If you're not gaining weight, add a little more until you're gaining at a steady pace (2-4 pounds a month is fine but don't stress if you're gaining a little more at first; there is water weight involved).
Yes, that includes chocolate, crisps, and whatever else you like. Even if not everything you eat is a "holy grail" of nutrients, it doesn't matter much as long as you have a balanced variety of foods that you eat regularly. Focus on the big picture. It's about progress, not perfection.
I'm not an expert when it comes to most aspects of life; sometimes, I have no idea what I'm doing. The more I learn, the more I can do, and the more I can pay it forward and help others.
