Thanks, Holly I agree, if you have shoulder issues, these may irritate them. One key when you or anyone is attempting a relatively heavy DB weight, it is critical to kick up the DBs as far as you can to avoid placing your shoulder in a very bad spot. That's why I was hesitating in the beginning, because I was thinking about the kick-up and I knew it had to be right or I'd be throwing them down on the floor.

Nice Pressing. I am always up for a challenge, but with my nerve damage in my right hand dumbells are tough for me and I have been having greater success with the barbell. So, I will watch and cheer everybody on from the sidelines!

Have we moved the lifting threads to the misc because the regular forum is so cluttered with "is it ok to take creative at 40" threads?
Very impressive, I don't know how you made that last rep ! When I hit the wall with DBS there's no way I can lock it out without some serious cheating, nice work
I just did db floor press yesterday so it'll be a few days before I can try inclines with the 125s but I think you win by default for being 25lb lighter than me!

Thank you.
Hey Half. I thought about placement of my thread and last week when I posted it in the o-35 sticky weekly thread, it barely got noticed. Yes, i could have put it in the regular section, but as you said, it is getting cluttered. I had to get that last rep, or I might not have posted the vid. 5 was my goal.
I appreciate the props, but I don't want this to be a competition. It is a challenge to ourselves and our own individual progress.Last edited by Mark1T; 07-20-2015 at 08:24 AM.

Just thought I'd chime in and say that set looked damn good to me.
Looked like you had good control on the DB's and especially good concentration on that last rep.

Thanks. At around the 13th to 14th second, you will see that I knee-up both simultaneously. First, I position the DBs close to my knees so I can swing them enough without using my shoulders and biceps. If I relied on my shoulder and biceps, I would never get them up. The key, at least for me, is that knee-up technique. No way I could do it one at a time, either. That would cause too much imbalance.
I have done incline DBs for years and even with 60s I do the same knee-up. It takes practice and practice with lower weights. IMO, technique is number 1. Then, strength. But, the strength is developed and takes training like any other lift. I had to build up to it.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Thanks, RT. Appreciate it.
Of course that counts. Any and all DB work. That was an awesome display of strength and control. Very creative. I'm wondering about the logistics you used there and how you got that big DB to the cage I assume you just carried it. That is a challenge in and of itself.
Again, we are challenging ourselves and not each other.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

This was done today for this thread. Been awhile since I've done db presses. 125x5 for you. Bw 238.
So the guy I had film this accidentally hit stop but thankfully restarted right away. So first vid is start and first rep going up and sec vid is the remaining 4 reps and finish. Wish it didn't happen this way but oh well. I got 115x9 after this.
