Increased protein intake along with elevated IgF-1 could also lead to increased risk of cancer... if one has an underlying issue in which makes them more susceptible to cancer.
So the question really is if XYZ causes cancer or if taking XYZ is exacerbating an underlying dysfunction.
On top of that, the supposed percentage increase, that's a percentage increase of a very very small number to begin with (0.2% of the general population bumped to 0.6%). There's also the other issue of not knowing which of the slew of supplements they surveyed may possibly be the cause or relationships/interactions between supplements.
Not trying to imply that the study should just be completely ignored, but there's really no analysis of cause and effect there, just a look at a percentage risk increase (ASFAIK).Last edited by kissdadookie; 04-15-2015 at 10:26 AM.
