    Looks like they just picked creatine and andro because those are what they'd heard of. This study is pretty much the opposite of convincing.

    4th thread started in 24 hours. Unfortunately they keep getting deleted because we know the study used 2 toatally different supplements and we can only talk about one of them on here.

    Increased protein intake along with elevated IgF-1 could also lead to increased risk of cancer... if one has an underlying issue in which makes them more susceptible to cancer.

    So the question really is if XYZ causes cancer or if taking XYZ is exacerbating an underlying dysfunction.

    On top of that, the supposed percentage increase, that's a percentage increase of a very very small number to begin with (0.2% of the general population bumped to 0.6%). There's also the other issue of not knowing which of the slew of supplements they surveyed may possibly be the cause or relationships/interactions between supplements.

    Not trying to imply that the study should just be completely ignored, but there's really no analysis of cause and effect there, just a look at a percentage risk increase (ASFAIK).

    Correlation != causation

    Also, define "muscle building supplement?" Pretty broad term. Would need full text, and even then, I'm sure there would be questions.

    I'm no fan of bodybuilding supplements, but look how small the risk is! So the risk of testicular cancer has gone from almost negligible to almost negligible x 2. I think we all have a far greater risk of dying in a car accident this year.

    No prob. They seem to have been deleted. I wrecked my knee skiing yesterday, so have probably been on here too much in the last day and a half as I'm not really getting off the couch.
