    Thumbs up too much cardio?

I need to change things up with trying to drop weight and wanted opinions on my idea on cardio. My diet is fine along with weight training. Wanted to switch to doing more HIT training with 10-12long sprints 4 X's a week in the lunch time hour and adding another cardio in the early night like jumping rope (have to look into reps on that). Could this be over kill or just fine to do?

It depends on how long the sprints are. If you're running 400's I think 4-6 would be about all someone in good cardiovasucalar shape could handle.

Being a bigger guy and middle aged you might want to find a more joint friendly option to do your HIIT like a rowing ergometer.

Maybe Sprint 1-2 nonconsecutive days a week and row or do kettlebell swings the other 3-4.
Extremes win followers. Nobody ever wanted to follow the "reasonable" diet or "realistic" workout program.

Less bench pressing never hurt anybody's shoulder health.

I know most people want me off running idea but I'm also trying to get in shape for upcoming softball. I play in a lot of leagues. Would like to try the rowing but nervous with my right shoulder. Had surgery twice and basically shot. Workout around it best I can but I'm going to give it a shot. Need to change things around.

Shoot for 30-40 minutes of cardio per session.
