I watch alot of the main stream sports like basketball, football, and baseball and sometimes i see athletes who I think really have BB potential. Unfortunately, I don't get the names of most of them for whatever reason, but the first one that comes to my mind is LeRon Landry.
Landry is a strong safety in the NFL and has been busted for peds, so he is definitely accustomed to the bber lifestyle and is addicted to building muscle. He would need to bring up those shoulders though.
My other choice is one you may not expect. If you are familiar with basketball, then you have probably seen him play. And if you look closely, you can see that this guy has a body type that could react well to a heavy bodybuilding regiment. It's Derek Fisher.
Look at that. It's the next Phil Heath!! Still manages to have roundness in the muscle in a sport that mostly favors endurance training.
Anyway, tell me if you agree or disagree (I'm sure I didn't have to tell you that) and which pro athletes in other sports you think could be good bodybuilders.

Well it is one of the sports where the guys have to be large and do serious weight training, while also doing cardio, which for the "faster" positions is going to translate into big dudes with low body fat.
Wrestling legend Karelin was a BEAST...there are tons of other wrestlers with great physiques.

Definitely, NFL players are some of the most genetically gifted athletes in the world. If you have the genetic potential as well as the talent to play pro football, that's what you're gonna do. It's where the money is. Many NFL players could have just as easily gone in a different direction and competed at an elite level in other sports instead, and a few of them actually do (ie. Herschel Walker).
Reggie Bush is also a great pick for bodybuilding because unlike many NFL players he's not overly tall at 6 ft, yet he'd have a few inches on most top-level bodybuilders.
Herschel Walker has kind of a wide waist and long arms, but with his genetics and work ethic I'd love to see what he could do if he got into bodybuilding.

I would disagree with the fact that top athletes go into football because that is where the money is. There is more money in basketball than football and even baseball players cash for a sport which is WAY easier on the body.
To me if you choose to play football, it is because you are the best at it out of the other sports, not because that is where the money is. Careers are shorter, money is less and bodies are WAY more beat up after your career.
But football is one of the sports which encourages muscle building, unlike other sports where it is encouraged as well, but not to that level.Last edited by TropicalSunset; 01-05-2015 at 03:52 PM.
