Some points why this is my subjective opinion;
- It filled me with hope, the movie is very powerful in that sense that it shows both the high value of family - but also the human race and development.
- It touches meta-physical subjects, but in (my opinion) a clever manner; not overdone to be silly but made it to something questionable to the extent that is reasonable. Got me thinking at least.
- Very strong emotional movie.
- Beautifuly made, good actors and good CGI.
- Touches important subjects politically (can be interprented differently but; pollution, overpopulation, depriorisation of space development)
- It was almost 3h, but thats only good in this case. Well worth every minute.
Christoffer Nolan is a genius in my opinion, if anything Interstellar confirmed this. Really fking touched me, I had my in tears (nohomo) 3-4 times, and not only due to sad scenes but also powerful and thrilling scenes where the beauty of humanity shines through.
The man is limitless. Stay progressive misc.

We really need a sticky thread for this movie, so many threads, just gonna post this before the inevitable questions (doesn't spoil anything not shown in trailers.):
For those who've seen it, this explains everything, I didn't catch everything even though I understood most of it.

I dont think I have ever cried in the theatre until this movie. I understand that there are some cheesy dialogues but if a ****ty movie like gravity gets such rave reviews idk how this doesnt.
First 45 minutes I was honestly mad at myself at hyping this movie up until the countdown scene. **** gave me goosebumps and was one of the greatest movies I ever seen from that point on.
Im a little bias since im a astrophysics major haha.

I think the reviewers just gave it some bad reviews to look cool for their friends or something. Like the Sheldon Cooper sounding ****er sitting behind me who kept pointing out errors in the physics. 10/10 movie, was like a 3 hour long roller coaster ride. Never has a movie about space felt that real before. This movie is what movie theaters were designed for.

Indeed. Breath is taken by this.
I have to agree with you here. In a hindsight it seems bad that the first 45min was lackluster, but it was connected back to the whole movie which gave it meaning. After the lift-off it was like 2 hours of different emotions in your body. It only makes me slight depressing few (if any) movies in my lifetime will make me feel like this.

I hate smartasses trying to find errors in everything to look smart, the producer and scientific advisor of the movie Kip Thorne (physicist) gave two conditions to Christopher Nolan, when he replaced Spielberg as the director:
1. Nothing will violate firmly established laws of physics.
2. Speculations will all spring from science.

I don't think Matthew Mcconaughey is a bad actor but I really hate supporting his movies. It still pisses me off that this guy won over Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio is the best actor on the planet and this other clown won an oscar before him. It's wrong and I don't know why the academy has blackballed him.

They used practical effects for pretty much all sets except the worm hole and black hole, they had Kip Thorne write up the mathematics, to put into computer graphic simulators that the CGI guys use.
They didn't use green screen though, which what u meant, but a space movie has to use CGI in some form.Nullius in verba

Should've known better than to go on the misc when a good movie is coming out; too many losers/neckbeards on here who get a kick out of ruining things for others. I personally stayed away from here for a couple days until I saw it Thursday night.
With that said, 10/10 movie. Will be seeing it again either this weekend or next.Carpe diem
