If I had to choose between dating a woman with no kids, and a woman with kids, hypothetically I would choose the woman with no kids. But let's say I did meet a girl with kids. Maybe I feel that the girl makes me happier than I realized I could be. I get to know the kids, and realize they are a joy to be around. This isn't where a man is trying to save a woman from a certain lifestyle. I could have kids with the woman, but all the kids would be mine because I am raising them as my own. Not that it would be a big deal, but if you were to walk down a step-daughter down the aisle one day and she proudly called you her dad, I would be touched. It's not about alpha or beta, it's about living life to the fullest you can.

If you look at it in a very black and white evolutionary sense, then technically, yes.

It's up to you how much importance you place on that sort of thing, whether you look at humans strictly as animals meant to survive and reproduce and nothing else, or whether you choose to see humans as something more than our base instincts.

EDIT: If you wanted to look at things in an evolutionary/primal sense, you could probably justify it as being a compromise for being given access to your girl's sugar wallz. And it's obviously not as bad if you also have kids of your own (or create new kids with the girl).

I was raised by a single mom who was a teacher. My dad abandoned us and also became estranged from his family including his parents. My mom never remarried or dated. I would have been glad to have a dad figure and I would not have disrespected him or whatever it is you people worry about.

I divorced my ex wife a year ago for cheating on me. We had no kids. 3 months ago a friend introduced me to a really attractive woman with two kids. She has a great family and good career as a teacher and is self-sufficient financially. I have never been treated as well or considerately by a woman as she treats me, and I'm 29 years old. I sometimes get nervous about the fact she has kids and what that means, but their dad is a deadbeat who at one point made good money but fell into drugs and cheated on her. He isn't around to see the kids even though he has visitation every other weekend. She married him when she was 23 and things went sideways on her. I could judge her and say why did you marry him but try is I married also at 23 and was also cheated on, but I never had kids with my ex.

It matters what other people think of us, which is why OP asked this question. All things equal it would be easier to date a hypothetical woman with no kids, but that's not life. My girlfriends son is 7 and her daughter 5. I look at her son and to be honest I see myself at his age. I'm not rushing into anything too fast but I helped him build a rocket and I guess she said it meant a lot to him. I've been slowly introducing her to friends and family and they all really like her, even my friends who are averse to kids.

Life is short and it goes by fast. If you find someone you can be happy with OP then do it. If you can improve a kids life do that too. Even if you don't get anything else out of it you helped give someone a better life. You'll die in the end either way.
