Thumbs up itzDodge 12 Week Clear Muscle Log

    12 Week Clear Muscle Log

I was fortunate to be selected for trialing Muscle Tech’s new Clear Muscle product. Clear Muscle uses betaTOR which is the free acid version of HMB. HMB is a metabolite of leucine and could be beneficial in reducing muscle damage during intense training. If you want to know more you can visit Muscle Tech’s website.
    http://www.muscletech.com/products/clear-muscle/

I’ll be following the 12 week protocol in the link below. I normally train 5 days/week following a PHAT like routine. I’ve already done about 2 weeks with this split to get a feel for it. The thing I’m least accustomed to for this routine is the short rest periods on the higher reps day. I can handle it no problem with accessory lifts but with the compound lifts I have to cut a lot of weight to be able to keep it up with a minute rest. http://www.muscletech.com/trainhard/

My goal with this log is to find out how hard I can cut without sacrificing excessive amounts of muscle mass. I’ll be doing measurements throughout and adjust as needed. If betaTOR produces results like it did in a recent study then this should be easy.

I have an IF style diet. I eat post workout in a 4-8 hour window depending on when I get to train. For me this has always felt best. It makes controlling my total intake very easy and after fasting for 16 hours even spinach starts to sound really appetizing.

    Edit:
Log starts officially on the 19th so I'm gunna redo everything then.

    Squat 385
    Deadlift 545
    Bench 275

I’ve done better with squats/bench but my deadlift has held up. My diet and training have been slightly jumbled for a while but I’m going to really get everything I can out of this log. I’m not sure where my numbers will go, I’m hoping up obviously. I want to be sub 10% BF by the end of this log which shouldn’t be hard to do, especially if the results from this product are anything like the study seems to suggest.

    Supplements
    Rhodiola Rosea – 500mg/day
    Taurine – 2-4g/day
    Betaine Anhydrous - 3g/day
    Creatine - 5g/day
    Caffeine – 400-800mg/day

I think that covers everything so far. I’ll try and set up like a weekly update on whatever needs to be said. If I missed something ya’ll think is important just let me know and I’ll fill it in.

Yeah I'm sort of excited to see what happens to me. If I could get my DL to 600 and Bench to 300 I would be soooooo happy but I'm cutting so that is unlikely to happen. The results of the study almost suggest otherwise though.

In on this. great start and initial pics. Also please do us a favor and change HMB - FA to betaTOR since that is how it is listed on the label.

Thanks for following ya'll. I can tell many are looking forward to seeing what this product can do. Once this gets going I'll be as detailed as possible. I've already become accustomed to the routine to some degree so I will be able to immediately get the ball rolling.

Nice! Seems like you have every thing covered. Your other supplements are great additions to the CM as well. Thanks for getting this up in a timely manner!

Gunna do a small update to the supplements. Since I'm cutting and I want to get everything out of this I'm adding MT Hydroxycut. As long as everything is dosed well it's a good product and should help with leaning out. I'll also be using Origin pre workout on Days 1/3. It's a simple formula, doesn't really change much about my current set up either.

Hydroxycut would definitely be a solid addition. I am starting my CM journey tomorrow. I am going to do 4 months of it with the first month or so my training style and then go into this program one.

    Supplements
MT Hydroxycut – 2 caps in the AM
    MT Clear Muscle – 6 caps/day
Genomyx Origin – 2 scoops pre
    Rhodiola Rosea – 500mg/day
    Betaine Anhydrous - 3g/day
    Caffeine – 400-800mg/day
    Taurine – 2-4g/day
    Creatine - 5g/day

    Day 1
    Pics & Measurements

I’ve got some other pics as well that I’ll use for comparisons at the end of the log.

    Lifts

I think these numbers will be really hard to keep up with my goal of cutting weight. I’m interested to see how Clear Muscle impacts my tolerance for these kinds of workouts. That dead lift set literally leaves me on the ground gasping for air for a solid 5 minutes.

Would ya’ll be ok with me adding in some light rotator cuff work at the end of the workouts? I find it helps keep my shoulders strong and healthy.

    Diet
    Macro Ranges:
    Protein – 150-190g/day
    Fat – 70-90g/day
    Carbs - 250-350g/day

Intake fluctuates based on gym performance/mood and my work/gym schedule. If my gym performance tanks I eat more carbs and if my mood tanks I eat more fats. I’ll generally aim for that range above and it will have me at a small-medium deficit. If Clear Muscle turns out to really aid recovery significantly then I’ll keep carbs down around 200.

I think doing rotator cuff exercises is a great idea. Do everything you can to prevent injury. Excellent start so far.
