Best Form of CARDIO HITT or LISS

    Hey Everyone,

I wanted to see what everyone's opinion was on the best form of cardio to burn fat. I have about 40-50lbs of fat that I want to lose and wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.

For you, you need to start with something that has a longer duration (running, jogging, skiing, rowing, ect). You want to be triggering your aerobic energy systems (i.e. using oxygen/fat/carbs). In a few months (if you have no exercise experience, around 4 months), your body will be ready for something more intense-a HIIT cardio workout. If your goal is to lose FAT, you want to look at longer duration aerobic exercises.

    Diet

You also NEED to be eating less than you are burning. You can find out your "baseline" here: http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/
This will give you a rough estimate. To start, keep it at a slight deficit-about 150-200 calories less than your maintenance levels. If you post your age, gender, weight, and how much you exercise a week (including what kinds and for how long) I can give you a better idea.

Does brisk walking for 30-45 minutes count?

this....but IMO DIET will help the most, but I prefer the just the steady state cardio. if you get ambitious put a treadmill on personal trainer and it will go up and down some

do whichever you like, switch it up to keep it from getting boring, it doesn't matter...just be more active. honestly though, thats only gonna account for 15-20% of your weight loss tops, and thats if you are doing it all the time. you need to decrease your calorie consumption...its much easier to drop 500 calories from your day (3 sodas?) than it is to do cardio for an hour to burn 500 calories.

Just like most of these guys said.

Don't worry so much about what the "best" form of cardio is. Just pick one and do it. I'd say HIIT is probably too intense for you at the beginning, it still kicks my trash!

Just make sure you get your heart rate into the right level and you should be fine.

This is perhaps the most important thing to consider. If you're working in the right level of HR, you're going to be better off. Amount of time or reps won't tell you better than this.
