Bill Ward isn't on the new album because he wanted more money than they were offering. Other than him it's the original band. This will be the first new Sabbath album with Ozzy in decades.

They played Lollapalooza in Chicago last year. I would have gone if I wasn't injured at the time. I've seen them a lot already, but I'll definitely go if they do a US tour this year.

Did you hear the new one with Dio a few years ago? It was awesome, much better than I expected. I think this one will be good too.

I have The Last Supper on DVD, and the interview segments are freaking hilarious. The band fired him for being so fcked up all the time, and even this gig shows Iommi quickly playing chords behind stage, testing Ozzy's ability to recall all the lyrics to Into The Void. It's funny as hell to me. Iommi wanted to be sure Ozzy wasn't fried before they walked in stage....in minutes following this .

I saw him in the 80's and he wore a hole in the center 20 feet of the stage, never left it. Ozzy is the real life version of Weekend at Bernie's, his carcass has been employed long after his brain checked out!

Every metal riff ever written... Iommi had already recorded it. It may have been in a different key and a different tempo...but he had already played it. Iommi is to metal what Hendrix was to rock.

according to his wife hes back on the drugs and alcohol. The intro of this song so reminds me of final frontier by maiden with that Iommi riff feel.

Hate to say it but hearing this song he isnt missed, they didnt loose anything by replacing him. Solid drums on that song, bass is a little un sabbath but im a bass player so im more critical of bass.

It sounded like Geezer was lightly slapping the E with his thumb during the intro. Letting it ring, almost a bell sound. I thought it was different too. He was ranked 18th bassist on a list of 60 recently.

a lot of musician are as**oles, but great music is great music. ronnie was a great singer and a great person in general but he is the exception to the rule when it comes to singers most are as**oles atleast the ones ive worked with LOL.

I did too but just once. In 1999 in Toronto on the Reunion Tour.

But I'm going to see + B L A C K + S A B B A T H + again in Toronto on August 14th! Happy 420!

They did it because the band didn't want to have to perform Ozzy era songs. Quotes attributed also said that Geezer and Tony may have been sick of always playing the same old songs. I suspect the legal issues may have played a part too.

I am looking at some tix for when they come to DC this summer. It says the show starts at 3:30 PM, I assume that means that is when doors open. Does anyone know who / how many opening bands there will be. Trying to decide if I should take the day off from work or just go after work (assuming they don't go on until late).

cliffs - if the opening bands are someone I don't care about I'd just show up late for Sabbath. Need to know who opening bands are and time schedule if anyone has a clue. I couldn't find this online, except the 3:30 start time.

If ozzy is as drugged up an incapable as he acts like he is on the tv show then how is it possible that he can perform at ozzfest and even make a new cd?

The answer is simple. Ozzy is acting.

It certainly gives a rock star credibility to act that way. Once they sober up, they are no longer interesting.

The whole reason for the tv show was to keep ozzys name out there and to push sharon and kellys careers. Dont hear much from jack but still see him now and again on tv.
