No, protein by itself is not simply enough to build muscle. Does it help? Yes. Protein provides your muscles with the building block that it needs to build and repair muscle. That being said, you need proper all around nutrition, and an excess of total calories in your diet, to build more muscle mass. It's the proper combination of food, training, and recovery that all play together hand in hand here.
As for protein timing, there are a few ideal times to take it. First thing in the morning as a type of breakfast source is great, since it puts an end to your fasting state from the night. Also, post workout is great, because it will help kickstart recovery from the rush of amino acids into the bodywww.ripcordperformance.com

Both are fine, they are just used for hitting your protein intake for the day. The optimal amount is about 1 gram of protein per pound of lean mass, but if you don't hit that exact amount you will still build muscle fine. You should try to get most of your protein intake from whole foods, but if that's an issue it's fine to have as many shakes as needed to hit your daily intake. Hope that helps, good luck.

whey protein and soy protein are good. Meat like chicken, beef, fish is also good. Combine both. Some people dont use whey or soy protein like you, I havent for months.
If the whey or protein is flavoured then there are some things in there which might have side effects depending on amounts consumed per individual.
Anyway it seems like you think or prefer whey/soy over meat, why is this? Where ever you heard that protein shakes are the best for muscle it is wrong my friend
Good luck in your training

Use the search brah, take ur protein immediately after workouts, and your body should have protein every 2-3 hrs if you want to build muscle. Coarse you gotta lift and get other parts of your diet in.
Used to be 247lbs 40% body fat.

Supplements are simply that, supplements, meant to supplement a well-rounded and effective diet and training routine. It is a mantra you will hear championed by myself, and a number of others, on this forum and elsewhere. Supplements, protein powders in this case, are not a substitution for the aforementioned. They are, however, a useful tool.
There is no 'right time' to take them. Use them when you need them. Find what is ideal for you.His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.

head to the nutrition section and read ip on macros OP. There is no set time to take your protein shake and some people dont need them. Use your protein powder to fill in those protein macros you couldnt get from food. Or you can get into a routine like i am. I am at college and only have 3 meals a day and i know thats not enough to fill in my protein macros. I know if i have at least 1 or 2 shakes a day i will be good. But i would check your macros and see how much protein you are consuming each day and adjust from there
