A healthy dose of death metal and general disdain for the outside world are fuel enough for my lifts without looking like a raging idiot or pretending terrorists kidnapped my cat.

Excuses are just tools of incompetence
Used to build monuments of nothingness
And those who specialize in the uses
Seldom achieve anything

Missing a weight. It pisses me off more then anything. I typically have a number I'm going for and think about it and visualize about it all day. If I miss that number I typically rage though you wouldn't know it. I keep pretty calm on the outside pretty much 99% of the time. But inside and in my head I'm ready to fuk something up. So, I go for it again and so far have gotten my numbers 100% of the time in training. So for those that say dont get to angry before lifting I say fuk you.
Edit: its sometimes funny to read what I post just before or after training. Aggression levels are definitely elevated.Last edited by Jason2459; 11-10-2012 at 09:16 AM.

my gym has the worst song choice ever...
it's like the ideal music to help you fall asleep
+ the lighting has the same effect
so when i have to get psyched up for my squat work set, i pinch a small part of my skin with the knee wraps and that sh*t hurts like hell
that wakes you up instantaneouslybest raw lifts (in competition):
squat 350 (772 lbs) - belt and wraps
bench 210 kg (462 lbs)
deadlift 320 kg (705 lbs) - belt

The guy that said he thinks about Obama getting re-elected is my hero hahahaha. No but for real, for me atleast the gym is the place i let out all my anger, aggression, anxiety and whatever else. But before real heavy lifts for squat or bench i think to myself this weight is going to fu*kin crush me if i don't get this **** up. That resolve in yourself to never give in never die, kicks in as i visualize blasting the weight off of me. It's about getting your mind right for the task at hand..which you can use for any aspect of life. Just in the case of lifting weights its a hell of a lot more fun than anything else!

I think about whatever girl I'm seeing at the time being banged by another guy or even getting hit on and it makes me want to tear the barbell in half I get so angry.
****I never check my control panel.

i second the stim buzz, helps with everything...
yeah, wonder what affect the ear lobe rubbing has...
i've seen a dude get slapped before, not my style but whatever works brah
smelling salt is good too, right? that'll wake you up
but all this stuff is just assistance
what really matters is having practiced the lift, put the work in, your body being ready(no meme)
your lifts are in kg, right?
that's cheeky, i bet you've been called out before then said "they're in kilos"The muscles i value most are the ones directly surrounding the spine, the hips, the scapula, the femur and the tibia... in that order.
Basically the whole body minus chest and biceps... pretty much the opposite of what your local gym looks like on a typical Monday.

i used to try and get all pissed off and pumped up but after reading so much about the power of the mind over the body...all i do now for nay max lift is sit quietly with my eyes closed for 60 seconds and imagine there is no one else in the world but me, nothing to be done but this one lift and i visualize myself doing everything from the setup to gripping the bar to how ill feel after i do it... then i take a deep breath with no hesitations and everything i jsut visualized happens...(most of the time ha)
