I hope you all stay safe and hope that the storm isn't too bad for you all. Just saw on the news this morning that it looks like it's
going to be a very bad one and that it concerned me.
In that case, are you all taking the day off? Tomorrow? The week? What are your plans?
What are things like in your area?
Stay Safe Guys.

Thx bro. The MTA (mass transit) was shut down today, so I'm sure many of us non emergency/utility workers took (or were given) off. Just very window as of now (I'm on Long island). The worst is apparently yet to come, so this is just the beginning. I'll find out about work sometime today, but I wouldn't take any chances.

Definitely stay safe folks. I'm an hour or so from the coast in south GA, and we had a lot of wind Saturday and Sunday as the storm was moving by...not a drop of rain was had.

Connecticut brah checking in here. Not sure what to expect from this storm but people are already evacuating in my area and the Coast Guard is on standby apparently. I'm not evacuating, but made sure to stock up on food/water/gas and weapons (bow and arrows, Javelin etc.).
I honestly think this storm is overhyped but I guess we'll see in the next 36 hours. Thanks for the thread OP. Friends may come and go, but BB's always stick together!

That's because Florida buildings/residences are built to withstand hurricanes and emergency services are prepared for it. 18 inches of snow was no big deals in Maine and a typical writer storm, whereas 18 inches shut down Washington DC for a week.
All is pretty normal up in Boston so far. Some heavy gusts and some light rain. Hope everyone down in NJ, NY and the other mid Atlantic states are doing ok

Chit loads of wind and rain, but have today and tomorrow off work. Assuming nothing blows loose or gets destroyed on the old homestead, not a bad little vacation.

My brother is in new york city right now. He's just visiting so he really has nowhere to go. He just sent my dad a text about horizontal rain and roofs being torn off of buildings.
My dad told him to get out of there several days ago but he was too stupid.
He's the kind of guy that visits war zones for no reason.
Had I not recently gotten a 2n job I would be there too

all I've had so far was some decent winds/rain. Power has flickered about 7-8 times today though
