And if you don't get into a hospital like Kaiser? I've heard the hardest part is actually finding a job other than working in a nursing home. For example, down here in Southern California, the "nursing shortage" is a bunch of bullsiht, straight from the mouths of all the nurses I've come across at places like Hoag and Kaiser. They say that when they were in nursing school, they were promised this and that, only to find out upon graduating that they were going to have to put in work in the lowest of the low places for a few years and get lucky as hell to land their current jobs. All of them felt sorry for the new nursing students because they knew that no one was quiting anytime soon and that the newbies would have a hard time finding good work (as in good money and schedule which pre-nursing students dream about).
What say you?
OP any comment on the new nursing grads? Also, what part of the country are you in and is there a nursing shortage?

Lady had a bottle of wine, she feel on her dresser, hit her head, her head was split open, you could see her skull and her eye. The blood was shooting from her head. We sent her to a trauma center for surgery.
Nope, never so far since i started
I love my job, most of the time it's rewarding, and it pays good, no complains so far.
No, not me per se, but i will work on stopping the bleeding, give you pain medication and fill a surgery packet then send you to surgery to whoever surgeon on call that day to stitch your penis or reatch the half if it's attachable.
I remember her, we banged , sorry brah.
I went to be a CNA. Yes, a lot of colleges have nursing programs, associates, not BSN but it doesn't matter because all nurses get paid the same if it's an AS or BSN, the only difference is if you want to do your masters, BSN is an easier route and also you can't work in schools as a school nurse.
I love it tenderly.
Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, english 1, math intermediate algebra ... those are the most important. But again uni and college programs differ with what they want... and every college nursing program can differ as well, but they all want the 3 biologies, english and math.
That's incorrect, your vitals are important, but i couldn't careless about your vitals if you're not short of breath, have chest pain or unconscious... we try to focus on your problem...أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله

Never really looked at tattoos, cause i don't care, but you see people with tattoos on their faces and shyt...
there's a lot of male nurses that work with me, we're dominating now.
how old are you?
what are you vital signs?
medical history?
are you on any medications?
symptoms?
all of these questions will attribute to you getting seen quick or not... it's by acuity level
No
Yes, i love it. dude, the pre reqs are easy as phuck... put your mind into it and get it done... probably the easiest pre reqs of all high payin majors..
That is so correct. The shortage shyt is bunch of BS. no one wants to hire new grad nurses, especially in california, i hear new nurses from the southern area are coming here to get jobs cause no one wants to hire them down there.
It's either you know someone or you have to get into a residency program or apply for a tech position to show them that you're commited and good worker and is better be done during nursing school because once you're done, no one will hire you as a tech.
allnurses.com , good site for tips and such..أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله

Nice! I started my orientation on Monday. I'm going to be working at an intermediate care unit. Is the ED where you want to stay for your career?
Im not afraid to die on a treadmill. I wont be outworked. I will run.Period.You may be more talented than me, you may be smarter than me and all those things, but if we get on the treadmill, your goin to get off first or Im goin to die. Its that simple. The commodity that I see in most people that arent getting to the places they want or arent achieving the things they want is strictly based on hustle, based on being outworked, strictly based on missing the right opportunities.

Yes, i love ER because
-i get to socialize with a lot of people coming in and out
-I'm on my feet most of the time
-fast pace and i get bored if i'm sitting down
-my ER is chill because we're not a trauma ER
-less charting than med surg
-ER nurses are preferred for any job for their experience
15% for nights
10% for weekends
one and a half for overtimeأشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله
