So survived my first contest prep! Entered the novice and open classes at the OCB Yankee Classic. My first time ever on stage my pre-judging was 15 minutes long!! That was pretty exhausting! I'm #67 (Red Trunks) in the video I got second in this novice class. Number 72 (black trunks) was the winner.

In the open class I held my own against some bigger guys and wound up 4th out of 9 (or 10?.. i'll have to look again). in my class. #85 won this class.

Overall I learned a TON and had lots of fun meeting new people! Time to re-energize, re-focus, re-build, and kick some ass next year!

Nice! Thank you. I lost pretty bad from the back.. and my posing needs some work too, but I'm looking to do that show again next year.
I'll get some pics up shortly
Thanks! I was kind of upset with the conditioning, but I only dieted 10 weeks for this show. I actually started dieting for a different show and changed gears a couple weeks in.
Thanks! It was really fun up there!NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Nice job bro!! You looked great for your first contest too. Looked calm and very confident up there with your posing as well. I know how you feel, my first prejudging was looooooong! There were 11 of us, so they split us in half and did it one group at a time while the other group stood back in the relaxed pose waiting. It was grueling, but so much fun. Keep up the good work and congrats on a job well done! You're one of the few, of thousands of people, that will ever make that kind of commitment and have the guts to compete. Mad respect for all the competitors out there!

lol I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. However, it did open my eyes to see I need to bring my back up like crazy, and learn to pose from the rear.
I appreciate it man. I had a lot of fun up there. Hearing all these people I don't know yelling out my number was a big confidence boost too.NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
