There's absolutely no reason cutting should be any more or less expensive. Eat the foods you currently enjoy within your calorie "budget", and make sure you meet adequate minimums for fat and protein, the rest from carbs. You don't need tofu or protein powders or meal replacements or any of that ****, normal food by almost anyone's definition will do just fine.
Doing that will save money because you'll be eating 20% less than you currently do. 20% less calories = 20% savings on the grocery bill, over time.

Pretty much this. Other alternatives could be:
1. Buy online/find local discounters that sell in bulk.
2. If you find items in sales that last for long periods of time, such as brown rice, canned goods (if you eat them) snap them up immediately and save for a later date.
Other than that I don't think there is much you can do, as others said items such a protein powders and other unnecessary items while having a restricted budget can be left out. Good luck!

To lose weight you need to be on a caloric deficit. To be on a caloric deficit you need to eat less calories. The less amount of calories you eat the less money you need to spend on food. The less money you need to spend on food the less amount of money you are spending before you started your weight loss diet.

Chicken breast is your new favorite food.
1). Cheap as ****
2). Filling as ****
3). Duration of feeling full as ****
4). Easy to make as ****
5. Low calorie as ****
6). High protein as ****
7). No carb/very little fat as **** (save those fun calories for other goodies)
There's no reason chicken shouldn't used in abundance on a cut, IMO. It's super diet food. I'm eating that bird everyday of the week. Use low cal flavorings to switch **** up. Right now, I'm using panda express kung poa sauce with my chicken. **** is awesome. Pretty much impossible not to lose weight eating it in abundance everyday. You feel too full to overeat on other fun things (especially if doing IF).

yee. i eat a lb of chicken with a huge spinach salad using sriracha as dressing 5 days a week for lunch (first meal).. guess what I have ~120g prot down the hatch with a phuck load of calories left.
doing this, I have never binged. i only eat over my deficit if it is time to refeed. makes cutting the easiest thing in the world.

Couldn't agree more. Cutting is made 100% more simple if you nail down protein asap with limited fat/carb intake, and I do it with chicken breasts. I find it to be a pain in the ass to start eating carbs/fats right away, while still hitting my caloric goals. At least more so than the alternative. If I do start off with carbs and fats, my desire to eat chicken (or any high p, low c/f) afterwards goes to hell. Moar boar wants moar. And unlike chicken breasts, my appetite sometimes gets insatiable. I can eat 12oz of cooked CB and not be hungry for 6 hours. I eat anything else, I'm ready to start pounding food down within the hour.

Brah, cutting is cheaper than bulking if anything.
Just monitor your calories, eat simple whole foods if you like.
ie, canned tuna/salmon, eggs, beans, rice, fruits, vegetables, ground beef/chicken/turkey in bulk and look at the ends of isles as well as the fronts of departments for sales on items. you can be creative and eat whatever you like if you calculate your macro's or count calories dont make it more complex than it is!
